Fuji exhaust is just like Versace.. Michael is right. They are all hand made and unique and the weiding is very good.

No Fuji is listed at the same price as Racing Beat in the Japan mag. Coz we don't have Racing Beat down under so getting racing beat and Fuji cost the same.

Getting the twin jack (you need a big one) will take you the whole afternoon to do it. I am not prepare to get anthing loose and twist my arm to install the exhaust. Installation fee should come with the exhaust.

I am happy with my choice especially after a few days.

Thanks for mentioning that Taka... I had noticed that in the recent issue of RX-7 Magazine (a big article on RB officially coming to Japan) and in Hyper REV. Unbelievable... it sells for about $600 in the US, but $1,000 in Japan. Additional costs for import/shipping, etc.?? That price is exactly at the same price point as other JDM exahust... too coincidental. And doesn't RB get some of the exhaust parts from Japan?? Like I said before about JDM prices... market collusion. This isn't a RB knock... it's a comment on JDM as they were likely asked or typically "expected" to price the same as everyone else.

BTW... I was under the impression that the extra "can" on the exhaust pipe, similar to Knight Sports, is NOT for tuning power. Rather it is a "resonator" used to tune out unwanted frequencies. Rotarygod, Wakeech and other have given this explanation when the Knight Sports system was being discussed.

Taka... That's nice man. I think JDM is way overpriced, but if you can afford it, it's worth it to be a little different I suppose. I like the Auto Exe set... I heard them on the road the other day... sounded so sweet! I need rotary!

Speaking of cars I saw the other day... I wish I had my digital camera to take a pic of this black FD with Racing Harts CR... damn sharp!

That extra dead end can can do one of two things. There could have been an unfavorable tone from the exhaust at certain rpms and this was an easy solution without redesigning the entire system. The other thing it could do is to resonate at a certain frequency and create a favorable effect on power at a certain spot in the powerband. It could be either or both of these. It is the only company I have seen that actually knows how to utilize this type of device. I'd love to see the system with and without it on a dyno but the odds of that are zero.

rotarygod, didn't you post somewhere that exhaust systems for the RX-8 right now does little to no performance increase? like 5hp at most?

So basically we're paying 500-1000 bucks more for the appearence of a new fatter tip exhaust?

Basically that has been posted by many... Gordon, Rotarygod, Wakeech, Racing Beat, MazdaManiac... MazdaManiac doesn't have an aftermarket cat-back on his car because of this. You get better gains by swapping out the cat for a straight pipe (which he did). For looks, just buy some new tips. That looks to be the best bang for the buck for your exhaust system...

BTW... rotarygod I stand corrected on the tuning.

You need to tune an engine properly before you change the parts on it. I'm sure there are a few horses to extract out of the exhaust. In fact I know how to do it. The systems up to this point have not done anything different from any others. If one well designed system can't get much of an increase, why would another that is similar to it? You'll get a few horsepower out of them but I don't believe anyone who claims more than just a few. I would actually think that you would get more power out of a midpipe than a catback system. The cat should be a bigger restriction than the muffler. Once someone gets a header that actually addresses the siamesed center port, then we'll start seeing more gains. Until then I'd sit tight and get an ecu upgrade.

I'm still waiting for someone to tune one according to my recommendations! Looks like I'll just have to go ahead and buy a car to find out.

Support and support see Hybrid... I was right!!! (for once ... )

I know it is only a few hp. I know all I get is best sound, bigger tip and a slight power... and it is more than $1000. That is why I regret a little.. but 7bp is 7bp better than going backward :D

Takahashi J, can I get the clip of the exhaust tomorrow... what is your first name by the way? :D

Taka

In the above photos your right hand side exhaust tip seems to be of center , are they fitted correctly ???

The right handside tip seems closer to the exhaust surround on one side .

cheers

Michael it looks off centre coz I took the pic off center.... hehe

Funny I had this problem when I had the old exhaust and the rubber shot is so tight that it is unlikely the cause...

Some how i complaint to the dealer and it was fixed.

I look hard this time when I fix it and the mechanics told me there is no way it will be off centre so many rubber stoppers and screw next to the drum it is unlikely twisted... I look hard before I left the garage anyway...

I maybe developing cross eye hehe

Damn you Michael... in my usual paranoid schizophrenic state, I went out and measure the distance between the edge of the exhuast tip to the boundaries.

It is 40mm, 40mm, 30mm, and 30mm from the RIGHT to left, right, top and bottom border respectively.

However, it is 40mm, 40mm, 32mm and 28mm from the LEFT to left, right, top and bottom border respectively.

What should I do??? I can't sleep now... thanks Michael

Taka

Sorry to cause you a restless nights sleep , its funny i sleep like a baby knowing my Hymee exhaust cost one third of yours and is centered on both sides .HA HA HA

The exhaust fitters need to have better round eyes or glasses , I AM SURE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ADJUST IT FOR YOU .

Taka your car looks great , next time i am in Melbourne will catch up i have to see the twin canistered Fujitsu exhaust for myself .

cheers

FUJITSUBO

Taka Taka..relax.

Just because someone cries wolf doesn't mean that there is one..

I've read many of posts from guys such as Rotarygod and so and they have great informed and educated posts...... which all in all makes this board better and better.

The views of the knightsports design much like the FUJITSUBO have come to an educated case that it is used for resonance tuning or tuning out unwanted exhaust frequencies. I too believe that this is so but the design also serves other purposes. Up to you to what you believe.

All in all, be happy with your purchase. HKS guys will laugh at Greddy guys and Greddy guys will laugh at Borla guys and so forth and so forth. In regards to your exhaust not being centred..you may want to check if your hangers are on properly.

Good luck with it all!

Nice car Taka. Love those wings. Looks much better then my standard mazda spoilers.

From the photos the tips look similar to Hymees. The carftmanship on the exhaust looks good though, pity most of it is hidden.

Well done, we need variety and I am sure your exhaust will turn heads and increase your driving experience

btw unusual weather for Melbourne at this time of the year :p
