The future aftermarket for the RX8
i just wanted to hear your opinions regarding the aftermarket in the future for the rx8...
to me, i hope that it will grow bigger as the renesis engine is still very new compared to the conventional engines, what are your thoughts?

If theres a demand. There will be a market.
Also the market has to do research and see if there will be people out in our rx8 community to spend the big $$$ for some things.
It all takes time.

Most of the people who have big $$$ to spend on extensive mods probably chose another car in the first place. I think things won't really pick up until around 2007-2008, when warranties start to expire on a large scale, and/or when used RX-8's get cheap enough.

Other cars have warranty's also. It all comes down to money. Supply and Demand, and thers no demand.

On another note though, Myth Buster put a rocket on top of a car, There is something to think about
but to get on topic, it better pick up. If not I'm looking at full stand alone ECU.

Go Texas Longhorns!
I think the aftermarket situation is pretty good now, we have several ECU options now whic allow for pretty much any FI solution you want. Granted, its not super cheap, but no more than other comparable cars.
We have all the suspension mods you could ever want, I would say we have plenty of body kits, wheels and exterior add ons.
I think what pisses most people of is that there is no cheap bolton upgrades that add any significant power (exahust, intake etc.....) as mazda squeezed as much out of the engine as they could.
given the relative uniqueness of our engine, I think we have a good mix of products
