Future RX-8 owner, possible idea upgrades

Hey all, right now I own a Jeep Wrangler which is a blast but its time for a change. This fall I plan on selling it to my dad and picking up a used RX-8. I was thinking I'd like to beef it up a little bit but keep it on the inexpensive side. I'm new to tuning and such and was wondering if some of these are worthwhile upgrades to invest in.

New exhaust for sure, most likely a Borla.

Air Filter: http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/K&N/A..._Filter/18316/

I was looking up these superchargers, sounds great on paper but has anyone had any experience with them or have one?
Something such as this: http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/RAM/P..._System/18149/

Would something like this be worth it?

Also if anyone else has any ideas that are relatively inexpensive I'd love to hear some suggestions.

Thanks.

Welcome.

The RX8 doesnt make a lot of HP from bolt ons. For the most bang for the buck most would suggest a midpipe (cat delete), and a tune for the AccessPort. That would get anywhere from 15-20 HP. Intakes and exhaust (cat back) dont add much HP.

The Axial Flow short shifter is a recommended first mod. I have one and love it. The stock shifter is great, but the AF SS is awesome.

Another popular mod is a lightweight flywheel and clutch, lets the Renny revs faster.

But you said on a budget I would go with a midpipe and Accessport for around $1000.

There is lots of info on FI, whether its turbo or SC in the Major HP section.

Most members are going to tell you to search. The BHR/Mazdamaniac upgrade to the Greddy Turbo is popular, as is the Pettit Racing SC. Start with those for you searches.

Enjoy the car!

I hope your not seriously thinking about getting that "supercharge" kit from that website you posted.. No it is not worth getting. IF you really want to beef up an Rx-8 look into turbos/sc's... for an rx8 they range from 3k+. As said above me, bolt ons wont add much power just makes the car sound better.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely look into some of those ideas.

And yeah I'd figure I'd ask about those supercharge kits, I mean they do sound good on paper for the price, but I don't know much about them.
