Getting 350rwhp?

Hey.

Im new, nice to meet all of you!

Is it possible to achieve 350rwhp with the following items

-greddy turbo kit
-Full greddy exhaust (saw the video for it in the sticky)
-Running at the recommended 5psi

Is this more like around 300rwhp, or can 350 be achieved? I really don't know the potential of the renisis at this point, but the higher compression ratio is friggen sweet for spool time and low end torque.

If 350 is out of range, tell me what i'd need to get that?

thank you ALL for your time.

NO, the thread below answers that question. Now if you were to ADD Nitrous to the Turbo you might be there.

Brent, do some reading around the website and you'll see that the formulae for certain performance levels are coming together and it all depends on your particular driving style and preference. To ask about strict h.p. numbers is to pretty much deny the other capabilities and shortcomings the RX-8 has. Adding a turbo in a mad chase for numbers will lead to a dyno queen that cannot keep it together on the road. Trust us.

When it comes to upgrading the RX8 the proper sequence should be handling, braking and then power. I think 300 at the wheels is achievable, you just have to know how to get it to hook up to the asphalt. The 8 has good brakes, so you could skip that for last, but I highly recommend the front shock tower brace that includes the master cylinder brace. Also, stainless brake lines would help. Having that much power needs to be kept under proper control.

To get that much power you'll need to start with a turbo kit that has upgrade potential. SSR's kit is a good one. Then you still will probably have to address the fuel system in some way. Also, we aren't too sure at this time how reliable current piggyback ecu tuning is. What you are looking for is possible but right now it isn't terribly easy or reliable. Technology is progressing fairly quickly though so we'll eventually see it.

Greddy will get you to around 300 at the crank. 350 to the wheels would involve turning up the boost a bit & nitrous.

I see.

Honestly, I think if you pulled out the rotors and had them machined to do a 9.0:1 compression ratio, 350hp could easily be achieved. I've been reading around and the injectors seem to be adequate, but people here aren't sure if the fuel pump is. No one seems to have installed a fuel pressure gauge to see..
Im not surprized that no one has done this to the rotors though, who the hell wants to dismantle their brand new car? not me, I can tell you that.

Im a big 8 fan believe it or not, I own an FC now, im just exploring some options here.

I appreciate your replys guys! thx!!!

listen to your friend billy zane, hes a cool guy. numbers mean nothing if you cant use them. having a 350hp car is nice, having a 238hp car that can take a corner at 90mph is nicer.

Brent, I have a bunch of bolt-on mods and a 55 shot that are all good for mid 12's on stock rollers, which is to say no traction in first and half of second gear. My G-Tech is indicating 225 net h.p. and 280 net h.p. w/nitrous. I figure a well-tuned turbo on top of that will get me high 11's. Are those the specs you're looking for? So far, the info you mentioned about the fuel system came from all of us who have responded and one other guy named Jeff Abrams. You're in good company here.

i agree, handling is more important then power. i just got my tein flex coilover and edfc last month, it work really good, you can really tell the difference. and i got my rotora big brake kit on last sunday, it took about 2 hour to install, it is a amazing brake kit, i did few 0-60 and complete stop test, the brake is amazing i just love it. I am into auto cross now, i am doing it every sunday, i have a lot of fun.

I was wondering what else i should buy that make my suspension and handling better? please give me the brand and the name of the item. thank you guys!

Sway bars will really help. Strut braces after that, then maybe some frame braces from Auto EXE or Mazda Speed.

The only other thing after that might be some urethane bushings for the control arms and 5-link.

BLASPHEMY!

And you would completely destroy the handling of the car. And for the person who is about to come in and say, "Well the LSx doesn't weigh much more than the renesis" Where is the WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION??? That's right... the weight distribution from the LSx will be higher and further forward of the front axel.

Depends on how you mount the motor and what you're willing to do to the car.
