A gift because I feel I have been neglecting my 8

OK so, I had to buy an old Honda Civic as a daily driver to put lot's of miles on. Since I have bought this I can only really take my 8 out a few times a week. I feel bad about this and want to buy her something new and nice. But this brings up the question of what to get her... I am not a real big gear head and don't want to spend tooo much money.

So the question I have is what will bring both me and my car the most pleasure. I already upgraded rotors and pads some other small things (lights, Ipod, tires, interior foot lights) so I am thinking now I would like something along the lines of: short shifter, intake, exhaust, struts, sways, I feel suspension is a bit much. So I need some help doing a cost/ benefit analysis.

I figured I would post here where there is such a wealth of knowledge and get some pros and cons, and maybe some personal experience stories. I guess my max price is about $900 (of course the less I spend the happier I will be) and I would like to do the upgrade on my own. Please feel free to post your constructive opinions, all are welcome.

Well if you don't want a suspension mod and your budget is $900, definitely go with the AFE short shifter. Cheap, amazing mod. From there, I would go with an exhaust. A little more expensive but will make the driving experience a little more enjoyable. Sways would be good too. But AFE for sure.

+1 on the short shifter

My favorite mod I've done to my car.

Edit:
Sways would be good too.
If you love the ride and will never change the springs/shocks I would suggest a set of anti-sway bars as well. They don't kick in unless you turn.

If you go springs and shocks you will have to compromise ride quality, but you will get a lot more performance.

Racingbeat seems to be the favorite. They are one of the, if not the stiffest anti-sway bars you can buy. I don't have aftermarket anti-sway bars because I have springs and shocks and my car is already like a rock.

A few local guys have it and one in particular loves them. He said it was the best suspension upgrade he did. It kept the ride on the street smooth and only kicked in when he turned.

Short Shifter!

As for sway bars, Racing Beat are popular. I just ordered some Tanabe's, but Charles R Hill has some great prices on Progress Tech adjustable sways!

No, they aren't. Racing Beat is a good product, but they can be a mild upgrade. Agency Power & Progress are probably the stiffest available for the car. And they are adjustable.

sway bars... how much a difference would it make going just front. Or would it be best to do rear and front? Anyone got reliable links or vendor info on Agency Power or Progress??

send a personal message to Charles R. Hill, he's a forum vendor here and owner of Black Halo Racing.
He carries some of those bars
