going with a new suspension, need your input

time for my first round of upgrades and the suspension is getting a makeover. this is my year round daily driver, so i dont want to go too extreme as ive found many times where ive cleared a piece of road debris that i realized i wouldnt have if i had the car really lowered or a body kit on it. i dont mind a harsh ride, but i dont want to be beat up at the same time.

ive been thinking of going w/ms so they cant give me **** about warranty, but i know theyre overpriced and im looking more into racing beat and open to other ideas. im open to mixing and matching as well or any other suggestions you guys have.

lastly, where have you found the best prices. rosenthal, mazdaparts and rb all seem to be pretty close in price, am i missing anyone?

Here is some input. You would get better input if you posted in the Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension section. (I have the TEIN springs, cheap and good)

I have Racing Beat springs & sway bars (the Racing Beat Suspension package) w/front sway bar endlinks & it is awesome. Not too serious of an upgrade. About 10% stiffer than stock, but not bad at all. .5" drop without my bumper scraping stuff up, and the crappy freeways in LA are actually OK. It depends how serious you want to get. My setup is good for aggressive street driving, and the occasional fun track day. if you are looking to autocross, the complete MS package would be a better (& more $) solution. Also HKS has a real nice coilover suspension package as well. Look for Jason at www.rx8store.net for some better pricing on RB stuff.

You have to modify the rear Racing Beat sway bar.Check their site.It will explain this info.I went with the Agency Power F/R Sway Bars along with their F/R end links. They r great.

yes the RB suspension pack is well worth the money! I just got mine installed and my first impressions with the RB springs is that the ride was almost the same feeling as the stock springs, apperance wise the car will look stock since the drop is so conservative. But from a performance/driving aspect you will feel the difference.

Did you keep the stock shocks and if so, is that what RB recommends for their package?

I kept the stock shocks on mine. The RB package is made to work with the stock shocks. Works great on my car. If you want to upgrade your shocks later on, you can go to Konis, as the RB springs are made to work with those as well. For the MS suspension, you have to get the MS shocks, the springs are not made to work with the stock suspension.
