got my aem cai today! just got SCREWED

i spent about 3 thousand dollars in aftermarket parts within the past week and 300 of it was a waste. i bought an aem cold air intake and im missing some parts! i was supposed to get a vacuum plug, 6 3.5inch hose clamps, and 1 of each 3.25 and 3.0 inch hose clamps. instead, i got 5 3.5icnh clamps, and 2 3.25 hose clamps.

i emailed aem;s tech support and i am awaiting an answer. anyone else have a similiar prob?????????

why not give the company time to respond before posting something like this? Things happen, AEM is a great company and they should take care of it.

Emailing them is not enough. You need to pick up the phone and talk directly to someone there about the issue if you want a quick resolution.

Many emails to companies end up in the spam bin, don't make it, or they just don't have enough people to answer them all

you might be able to get those parts at a auto parts store if you want to install it this weekend, they shouldn't be to much $$$

i will give you a heads up about AEM if you ever need warantee help take pictures of the problem on the car and also make sure its installed perfectly also any rubber elbows, make sure no kinda of armour all gets on em. i had one on my focus until i hit a racoon and it broke , so i gave it away, than won another at a G2G, than sold it but i honestly loved the feel and sound of it

For my Greddy turbo kit, it was missing a piece of the aluminum piping. I wrote in, and called their tech support, and they gave me the "talk to the Greddy dealer you bought it from & they have to order the part" BS. If HKS makes it, buy it from them. Their customer support is about a 1000X better.

It's OK, but like it has been covered in numerous threads it has it's limitations, and seems to have been released way too early without a lot of R&D behind it. I had to be one of the earliy (earliest) adopters, and I ran into my share of lumps. It function better now that I have a different fuel managemnt unit in it, and also SP Engineering is working on it. That is about as good as it gets. I guess now that MazdaManiac has been able to take a look at the kit, and suggest problems & fixes for it, it is a good kit for the money. Looking back if I have $6500+ to spend on a kit, I would wait for the PTP Motorsports kit. Jon knows what he is doing, & they are making sure that kit is right. If I had $3000+ to spend on a kit, the Greddy would be fine.

I didn't have the vac cap in mine either, grabbed it from a pile I had in my garage. You can get a countainer of like 10 of them for under 5 bucks at the auto parts store...

After I got my Rb Revi w/ Ram Air I was missing a gromett for the Revi and 2 long screws for the Ram Air. Had to find another screw from my old air box that would secure it pretty well. Yeah, go complain to them. I haven't said anything Rb yet but I should. Seems to be holding up fine though.

I was actually going to mention the same thing but decided not to.

Being a technician for any car dealership should mean you are prepared to deal with issues like this without a problem. And you should know where to get a vac cap from and not be pissy about it.

This just further proves why I don't like dealerships or most any auto tech out in the market today, no offense.

I didn't get a vacuum cap either. I don't think AEM puts one with this kit. I used my own little $.10 rig. worked fine.

ouch fellas, very ouch.

i am at my house guys, i didnt say i checked the parts dept and they didnt have any clamps. i was just upset about the fact that there werent any in the package. vacuum caps, hose clamps, etc are all obtainable, but my problem/complaint was that there wasnt a complete set in my 315 dollar kit, thats all.
i expected the kit to be all in order, and it isnt. that was my problem. sorry to mislead, no hard feelings?

FWIW, if you go back to your first post you can delete it, which since it's the first post of the thread deletes everything and saves you from any further flaming ...
