Got my Hymee SS Exhaust this week!

Ok, so im not a big performance mod kinda guy, hell...im one the 15 people in the US that bought an Automatic <<insert insult here>> but after hearing Gray Ghost's and Foxmans exhaust, I knew it was only a matter of time... I told Matt at Mazdaparts.com that I didnt want it to sound really loud, so he recommended the Hymee Stainless Steel Exhaust...

Taking this thing out of the box its a shame you have to hide it under the car...its a work of art. Anyways... I had it installed, and was a bit scared it was going to sound like one of those big sound cannons usually strapped underneath a Honda Accord .... To my surprise it was a rich mellow sounding exhaust.. and I have to say.. My car seems to idle better... and maybe im dreamin... but it just feels a hell of alot quicker!

Anybody that is lookin at getting a new exhaust...and is looking for an exhaust that is not all about making the MOST sound...but rather a deep throaty note... this is the kit for you!

Wow, that exhaust looks nice. So does anyone know if this exhaust will work with FI. I remember on another thread RB said that they're exhaust was not intended for that purpose, but for N/A use. I'd definitely like to pick this unit up if it can handle FI.

I know Hymee himself is using this exhaust for his car which he is building a SuperCharger for...so yes the exhaust currently works great with FI applications

I have to get one of these...besides the outstanding quality the tips are beatifully handmade...this will be my next purchase

You may or may not have seen these pics. Here are some close up pics of my Hymee tips with 6000 miles on them. Done 13000 now, still look just as good.

No....it ain't loud. Yes....the tips haven't gone gold.

I am quite particular with stuff I buy. And I call a spade a spade (no racial connotations intended). I thought this exhaust was too loud for the first 50 miles, then it carboned up inside and settled right down. I cannot handle an exhaust that's too loud or drones at ANY speed. This exhaust doesn't. I have never read a negative review of this system. I'd like to know who said it was too loud 'cos I bet they've never been in a car with this system on it.

You won't be disappointed if you lay down your hard earned for this exhaust system.

Gomez.

smrx8 - why are you changing your RB exhaust? I'm curious as I'm currently looking to buy an exhaust and was leaning towards RB or the RXStore's (aka Magnaflow I think).

Nothing really wrong with me racing beat exhaust i just like burning money away :D I like an exhaust that quiet and from what i here now it between these 2. One reason i would like to change it is because I'm tired of polishing them dam tips they keep turning a golden color but most all exhaust have that problem from what i here from gomez hymee does not, that a big plus for me.So again nothing really wrong.

Can't comment on an RB system. No-one here has one to the best of my knowledge. The Hymee is so well priced no-one really looks at the O/S systems. A RB system would cost well over a grand here and you can buy a Hymee for half that.

The reason an exhaust turns gold or blue (corrosion) is chromium and nickle mixed in the steel that changes colors at high temps. This is actually protecting the metal since it is Chromium and Nickle that is used to make steel a Stainless Steel.

Stainless steel is made in various grades, for instance 314 grade is more prone to its appearance looking corroded/rusted etc than say 316 marine grade stainless. There are many other grades. For a good rundown of SS you should visit sword making websites.

Most likely Hymee is using a higher quality (ie more expensive) Stainless Steel...and he can do this while keeping the price of the exhaust down because steel is much less expensive downunder .
