Got a question regarding the midpipe...
I was looking at the midpipe that the Rx8store sells and it basically just replaces the Cat and keeps the secondary exhaust. It is like $250, and I am smart enough not to buy that, I am planning on just getting the cat straight-piped to get the 10-hp gain that they claim with nixing the Cat. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were for me to just straight-pipe the exhaust back to the muffler and take out the secondary muffler when I take the Cat. converter out.

loud. Too loud for street applications according to reports from people who've run it. Even those how traded the cat for a high flow/high temp cat had to add a resonator before the cat-back, simply because it was too loud.
If loud is what you want... then you've got no problem, but if you want something easily streetable (i.e. don't call cops attention to you)... then you may want to consider adding the resonator.

i was planning on doing the same thing...just go to a local muffler shop and make one...and don't forget to add flanges on both sides of the pipe so you can take it off and put it back on when you need too...that mod will probably cost you only $50 bucks at the most... $50 vs. $250 ?? you guys do the math..

CEL : Check Engine Light
O2 simulator is a little "simulator" box that plugs in where the second O2 sensor is. This fools the computer into thinking that there is still a properly working O2 sensor hooked up running through a cat. No CEL.

Not to be a dumbass and ask a ton of questions, but where do I get an 02 simulator and does it have to be one specifically for the 8 or can I pick it up at the muffler shop while they are doing my cat.
Thanks,
Troy J.
