Greddy eManage Ultimate

Greddy eManage Ultimate
Here's a link to the new eManage Ultimate. I can't read Japanese though. If you run it through bablefish, you'll get a jumbed pile of workds that need serious interpretation. Although I couldn't see any mention of it in the bablefish translation, this new eManage is rumored to be able to do maf to map sensor conversion which would allow you to get rid of the maf sensor entirely in favor of a pressure based map sensor. Does anyone have any other info on this? Maybe someone who lives in Japan with an inside scoop? If this rumor is indeed true, it could prove to be a product to watch for. It would be very interesting if we could get around the maf on the RX-8. Not sure if we can or not but one can still dream.

GReddy e-manage Ultimate
As easy to use as the e-manage has been, with a wide variety of functions added. This is
the e-manage Ultimate.
- Air Flow signal, injector signal (increase/decrease is possible), and ignition timing
correction has become possible.
- I/J correction map, ignition timing correction map can be turned on/off.
- Each correction map can be switched on/off from dip switches on the front panel.
- Data logging function sampling at 20ms. Also the main alone can record data.
- Using USB, high-speed communication (compared to the e-manage), detailed display, and
recording.
- Communications cable is not included. Communications are by commercially available USB
cables.
- Computer CD-ROM is included.
GReddy e-manage Ultimate harness kit

Well... it says that ti comes with the PC CD-ROM... I can only assume that this is for tuning.
I doubt that the older e-manage can be upgraded in an of itself.... you can get the adpater harness and plug it into your e-manage wiring though...

does anyone have any more information on the emanage ultimate?
Just wondering... I just got my RX and was about to buy a CZ but if this is coming out soon then I'll wait a while before I figure out what piggy back is going to run my car... (turbo or SC in the future)

The emanage ultimate now lists on the US Greddy site.
As I've been on a ECU binge as of late, I decided to call greddy and find out how this unit differs from the regular emanage system and if they are testing it on the RX8 for use with the turbo kit among others.
The good news is that they were literally testing it on the 8 on the dyno when I called. Mazda lent them a car for the week, so they will have results by friday.
As Kenji(sp) explained rather than fool the ECU through the MAF sensor, it takes the stock signals and runs them through the ultimate box first, allowing you to alter the fuel and timing among other things. I'm going to guess it has a way of putting the car into some sort of virtual mode so the car thinks everything is fine. It does not control throttle or DBW.
It will be interesting to see how this shakes out, as Greddy has a close relationship with Mazda and I'm sure wants a real solution to the RX8 ECU wows. With this they can offer a higher HP version I would think. While I don't think much of the regular emanage for the RX8, this could offer the FI folks a cheaper alternative to other ECU units. I'm not sure how well it will work for NA tuning.
The more options the better.

I would love to see the Greddy Ultimate do what we are looking for, But does anyone believe that this can be acomplished with a price tag around $ 550.00.. THe Mazsport seems to have the kind of control we are looking for , at around $ 1,700.00 That's more than 3 times the cost of the Ultimate...
It still looks like You Get What You Pay For...

Hey Jeff,
I'm debating between the Interceptor and the Ultimate, so your review will be greatly appreciated. I have placed on my wish list this wideband controller for tuning my NA setup:
The Innovate LC-1 Wideband Controller & XD-1 Programmable Digital Gauge, Bosch 5-wire Wideband 02 Sensor, Bung/Plug Kit, Software CD, and owners manual.
Do you think this would be a good controller for tuning and setting up the Ultimate to chash an AFR? I'm worried about the Interceptor taking away the knock retard feature of the OEM ECU. I really do not want to rely on a flashing CEL to telll me I'm pinging.
Good luck with the move, I'm doing the same myself. :D
