Any old exhaust shop will do. It's fairly easy to do yourself if you have a way of getting under there.

If you take it to a shop I would take off the plastic trim around the exhaust myself. It’s easy to damage the trim and more likely to get damage by someone with little care for your care. http://www.mazdatrix.com/faqrx8/exhfinish.htm gives you an idea on how to do it. Also have them explain how they are going the do the install. There is no need to cut anything off; this is a simple bolt in that should take a shop less than 20 minutes if you take off the tail pipe trim pieces yourself.

I just picked up a slightly used GReddy SP2 and installed it yesterday with the help of the advice in the thread. Thanks Expo1 for the great write-up.

Here are the before and after pics:

Before, with my friend who hates stock cars.

But what makes it really great is the fact that you don't see the big 'ol muffler hanging down under the back of the rear bumper.

I was thinking about the Mazdaspeed dual but I think I like this one better. Looks meaner.

Yep, it's not too bad of an install. I'm no mechanical genious and it took me less than an hour. The fitment was excellent.

Enjoy!

I heard horror stories of the hangers but mine weren't that bad. I had one other person helping me and they didn't give us that much trouble (maybe because the car didn't have hardly any miles on it?).

As far as the plastic trim we didn't remove it - we were able to slip they tips in there w/o to much trouble, but I agree it's probably a good idea to go ahead and remove it as I was nervous it would get damaged.

i just installed it yesterday. it was way easy. one of the reasons was that i bought a "exhaust hanger removal pliers" online and that made removing it from the hangers a piece of cake.

So does anyone shoot fireballs out the back of the car with this exhaust. Apparently, mine does not

Perhaps I need a high flow cat to shoot fireballs.
