H2O pump + t-stat + silicone hoses
#27
Ok i know im bumping an old thread. But does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to get out the lower radiator hose. Im flushing my coolant and installing my samco silicone hoses. Ive so far installed both upper hoses.
The lower rad hose is a major PITA to remove. Ive got the top part of the hose that connects to the water pump off already but i cant get the bottom part that connects to the radiator off for anything. Ive tried to get to the hose clamps from the top and the bottom. I can grip it with a needle nose pliers from up top but dont have much room to move it.

I have never had an issue replacing them
The lower hose clamp can be reached from the bottom with the tray off. They also make a special tool to remove OEM style clamps.
Of course you can always cut them off but be careful on the stock plastic rad nipples. Just take your time and take a step back. Thanks for searching.

When you do get them off, make sure you use radiator hose grease (autozone or any place has it) on the new hoses, it will make your life a lot easier the next time you do this.
