Yep, that's been out for some time now... and it looks to be one of the best flowing (and many would say, best looking) units on the market.

However, I'm not sure anyone has one as Chuck (Rotary Extreme) ran into some sort of a supply problem. You might want to check with him directly before you get your heart set on it. If it IS available, please let us know.

It looks similar to the CorkSport power series exhaust. Not exactly the same, but very, very near identical. If I remember tonight, I'll take a pic of mine. I just got it in the mail yesterday. Otherwise, look on CorkSport.com

OT: I heard Cork Sport was very shady. I remember a story from the RX-7 Forum that a customer was charged $135 for standing around.

Love the exhaust. It looks kind of like Hymee's design. Sharp tips are the best-looking .

I tend to prefer my Borla because it is not visible from behind the car, much like the stock can and many aftermarket units.

Most exhausts aren't providing that much more hp. I think the average was 2-6ish. I think until we have a better complete exhaust system, looks and sound should be priority when buying a cat back.

Be careful with a system that includes an "off road" mid pipe. I got the luxury of listening to one on a RX8 before I selected mine. In short, it sounded like crap. That engine is not what you want to hear without the catalytic converter. It sounded like someone threw a handful of firecrackers into public bathroom. This was the best thing about it. It also had a tendency to sputter and back-fire. Not something that would make the neighbors happy!

Maybe someone can also answer the question about sensors. Are there any sensors south of the cat that could cause a CEL if the cat were tossed?

Unless RE changed his design, be aware that the bottom cans now hang lower than the CAT which is the lowest point on a stock car.

At the time, the greddy seemed to me to be both one of the cheapest and one of the straightest exhausts on the market. Plus I found a sound clip of it I liked. I definately feel a noticeable increase in acceleration from what I've done so far. Next on my list will probably be a flywheel/coilovers, but not anytime soon.

Yes, there is one sensor before the cat, and one that goes inside the cat. If you remove the cat, the CEL may come on. Mine has spent more time off than on.

One more thing I'd like to mention if you didn't read my last thread about my sound clips, but I have made a few recordings of my setup for anyone that would like to hear...just PM me and I'll email them to you.

Yes, there are two O2 sensors on the RX-8. The first is for the engine's O2 levels, and the second is to monitor the the catalyst operation. I put a mid-pipe on and got a CEL because of it. To me, the boost in power is worth it.

Hymee's system (which nearly every-one on the Oz forum has, including me!) runs the two mufflers under the std heatshield in the place where the original rear muffler assy once sat. It's quite stealthy when viewed from the rear, you cannot see the mufflers at all. That's a major benefit IMHO. Sounds great too, he has posted sound clips. He ships to the States if anyone wants one.........

Gomez.

Sorry, your right. That extra flange near the mufflers threw me off. It also looks long from the angle of that picture, maybe because of the angle of the mufflers.

This exhaust MAY have not been designed by RE. I did a long investigation into where I could find this exhaust and it brought me to Helix Power of Japan. They designed it and from what I understand, from speaking to a rep at another company offering the same exhaust system, Helix had a minor miscalculation on the fitting of the system and they recalled them all. Helix had stopped production of the system a few months ago, when RE claimed they were having stocking problems with there vendor. Helix has yet to release the revised and corrected exhaust system. Personally, I'm waiting for it to be released, it looks great and I have a neighbor with a Helix system on his 350Z and it sounds great. Just some info hope it clears a few things up.
