I'm assuming English isn't your first language, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. But you can possibly buy headers at http://www.rotaryextreme.com.

How come you want new headers? From what I've heard the stock headers are pretty good.

I don't know what's the deal with getting a header. You won't gain any significant HP from it anyway. Here's what Jim Mederer from Racing Beat has to say:

The following is an update from the desk of Jim Mederer as he shares his thoughts on the progress of his testing:

"Racing Beat is about to come out with a number of products for the new RX-8. Others have already brought products to the market with what we have found to be some rather exaggerated claims. Rather than echo these claims we prefer to report exactly and honestly the results we see. In the long run, the customer will appreciate dealing with reality, not a wish. In the past it was common to see improvements in the exhaust and intake systems of rotary engines in the 12-20 HP bracket, depending on the product. Headers in particular were a great source of power- this is no longer true. Although we are still working on a final header design, we have yet to observe more than a slight horsepower gain. Space is a limiting factor to becoming creative with a header design, and besides, the port configuration is fairly restrictive on the Renesis engine. We have found that Mazda’s exhaust manifold design is actually pretty good. Mazda has already wrung almost nearly everything they can from the engine. The are small improvements possible, but the days of the early rotaries when 10-20 horsepower gains could be realized fairly easily, those days appear to be over."

The following table lists the measured power gains from various aftermarket components. Testing has been conducted on the Racing Beat engine dyno with both pre-production and production Renesis engines.

1. Intake – enlarging the oval inlet to the factory air box - +2 HP (this modification eliminates the VFAD intake duct.).
2. Headers – approximately 4 HP peak power gain.
3. Mufflers – muffler & connecting pipe - 2-3 HP.
4. Removing the muffler from the car (engine) – about 4 HP.
5. Remove catalytic converter and resonator from the engine completely, and replacing with "cat" replacement tube – max benefit 8 HP – regardless of what muffler is used (or even no muffler).

Did you really feel the need to start TWO threads about headers.

And, I'll be this threads token search ****.

USE THE SEARCH, there have been quite a few threads about headers.

1000 dollars for 1 hp? sounds worth it to me when u add in the coolness factor :D

but honestly... its funny how on that list of hp gains of intakes exhausts headers and what not.. the headers has more hp then the intake and muffler with connecting pipe yet they didnt come out with headers

interesting.

Well I notice they do say "peak power gain" which may mean it does nothing until you hit 8k rpm or higher. Some products are advertised as adding hp but when you look at the dyno charts it only kicks in at an rpm range you rarely use, or use for very long on the street.

It does say they are working on "finalizing" a design but if it adds only 1hp that's useful across the normal range, and they have to charge $1,000 for it....why bother? The guys at RB are practical and realistic not only in the products they develop but in business practices too.

I'm sure if you do a package of intake, cold air duct, headers and exhaust the combined hp boost might be nice but at what cost? If you get 1hp from cold air duct, 2hp from intake, 4hp from headers and 3hp from exhaust, that's only 10hp combined at best and the price for all that would probably be around $2,000. Not the best bang for the buck. If you drop the headers you still get 6hp but at half the price...not so bad.

When they do finalize a design I'd be very interested to see what the hp difference is with a complete system; duct, intake, header and exhaust compared to stock. The advertised gain on each of those items is with adding that item only to a stock config; together they may produce more than the individual gains normally do.

All headers currently available are poorly designed, though high quality, units.

I have the Racing Beat unit. Sound is about perfect. Greddy is a bit louder, Borla is nice as well. There was another post in the General Automotive section of an HKX Legamax unit for $800. For that price it should be a definite consideration. Very, very well piece. Mazdatrix has their exhaust section that gives you little snippets of how they sound. Hp gain is pretty much negligible on all the units. None will give you more than a few hp.

No exhaust will give you 10hp, at most 4-5hp (not necessarily at peak). A high flow cat might, but a catback won't. Most catbacks are lighter than stock however. And lighter is good, in my book. A RevI intake, high flow cat, and a good afr tune would probably net you 20 to 30hp over stock (maybe more), depending on your stock afr tune. And you could probably get a few more by messing with the timing a bit. A well tuned piggyback has been the most 'bang for the buck' mod powerwise for a naturally aspirated 8, so far.

Consider RB, Borla, HKS, Greddy, Hymee, etc. All are good units. None of the exhausts are designed for the Turbo units (though it has been mentioned that Altered Atmosphere might have one). No "regular" cat back exhaust is going to give you 10 whp. Most is about 3 hp. a lot of these claims were on different cars, also were never substantiated (same dyno, same day). RB has a single pipe race exhaust coming out, that will probably give more than 3 whp, but it is up to you if you can handle the look.

Mechanic can tune it with the Greddy Support Tool software & a lap top. Allows you to see the Greddy map & add/subtract fuel as needed.

Exhaust doesn't really matter. none provide more/less hp, even with a turbo kit.
