Headers
Anyone here looked into the OBX exhaust headers for the 8? Or anyone know someone who has them installed? Just wondering if theyre worth buying. I can get them for about 195 USD. Would it be worth it? Future plans in the late spring is to go turbo btw.

I believe this has been discussed before and it was agreed that for the price, the OB headers are a good buy but do not expect any real performance gains on a N/A engine (maybe 2-3 HP at high RPM). I believe they are designed after a Japanese header that sells for $700-800 so the price is good. The problem with the headers is that the o2 sensor is located in a tube that only samples exhaust from 1 port which could cause problems. In my opinion the only reason to buy headers is if you are going to supercharger your vehicle.
If I was going to get headers I would consider the headers by DNA motorsports in Australia. They sell for about $500 USA plus shipping. But you can get them for less if bought as part of the stage 2 kit. This is the Supercharger kit that mazdatrix is testing and will be selling for DNA.
Take a look at these headers, they have the o2 sensor in the collector not just 1 tube.

Thanks for the detailed response. I know tou couldve just said "use the search option" but instead you were mature and gave your two cents.
But 500 USD for 2-3 HP when Im goin turbo isnt worth that to me. I did think however because I've seen people say before that headers will give around 10-15 HP . I figured the OBX for 195 was worth it becasue 195 for that before i go turbo would be worth it hmmm I guess pretty much headers arent worth it.

Yea click on all of those and you scroll through all the BS you have to fish through. It's tons on RELATED but not specific discussions about what I wanted to know. It is MUCH faster to make a post and get an answer. Enough people are on this forum to get a fast answer. And, if I was a mod on a forum or anything like that I would not be a dick and say use the search as there are many new people and people who would like a "refresher course" of information. So be an educator. Be helpful. This board already has a rep as having a bunch of ******** for moderators. Which in the small amount of time ive been here i've noticed.
And otherwise, if you're going FI you could much better spend your money on mods that will prep the car for the extra abuse - upgraded water pump, radiator, gauges, sway bars, wider wheels/tires, etc...

If you can't be bothered to look for what was already written, why should I be bothered to write it AGAIN for you?
