High flow cat or midpipe
#57
I just bought the Agency power dual resonated midpipe from the rx7 store. Got it installed yesterday, 3 hours and less than 100km there's a glass rattling coming from the rear end of the car...

Do you have the stock exhaust? It makes a wire brush on metal type of sound if you do.

AP Mid pipe
Have the ap mid pipe on mine and with the ultra rev exhaust no rattles or buzzing and no hard codes set. Had to take of the Ultra rev exhaust to repair a weld and put the stock muffler back on and it buzzed like crazy like a couple of baffles in the muffler were vibrating. Then put the Ultra rev back on and no buzzing at all.
Just my two cents

Depends on the state and what kind of inspections you have. There is a DIY thread about how to pass emissions with the midpipe on there, and it works. In Nevada all they do is hook up to the obd2 port and it runs some tests, even if it smells as bad as this does they don't care its just a job to most of them.
Also I have at least 8k miles on my AP midpipe and the sound has not changed yet. Still the buzzy resonance at 3.5 - 4.5k rpm from having the stock exhaust.

Yes, it can replace the OEM without a CEL or excess noise.
However, don't go full throttle to redline more than a couple times over the life of the cat. You can, but it won't be more than a couple before the cat blows out. Check the BHR midpipe thread for picture proof of a Davesport cat lasting less than 1 day of autocross from brand new.

It's simply a matter of heat. Too much heat and it's toast. The Davesport would get welded into whatever midpipe you select. Whatever midpipe you pick with whatever resonators won't make a difference in the amount of heat you are creating.
Keep calm with a low EGT tune and you too can make it last. It's just hamstringing you with a mental barrier knowing that going too high will shovel the money you spent down the drain.
