I have over 40,000 on my SP2 and I am still happy with it. Be advised the tips on it are huge.

Not to offend any SP2 owners out there....the Greddy im sure is a nice exhaust system..

But this is really comparing apples to oranges.... The HKS is a much better quality unit than the Greddy....

The HKS should be compared with Fujisubo, JIC, RE Amemiya, Autoexe etc....

The Greddy is more along the lines of Tanabe, Borla, B&B, Magnaflow etc..

Theyre both nice systems but there also is a substantial difference in price, product quality, exhaust tones, looks....etc

All in all, if $$ is not a big issue here, I'd say go for the HKS

HKS. The Greddy is ridiculously loud, and IMO those tips are really ugly with the rolled lip at the end.

the hks legamax is a little bit more quiet compared to greddy's.

i can honestly say. the quality on the exhaust for HKS is remarkable and amazing. i previously had the JIC exhaust, and i thought that was quality and that its performance gain would be at the top out of the other exhaust, but i was wrong. once i got the HKS. the throttle response and sound and gain on the HKS was clearly the better choice and im very happy that i did. you won't regret it when you get it.

all the vids with HKS exhaust have the suction kit on it... yea I am sure the HKS will sound bad *** if it also has a $500 intake system on it as well. also how does the HKS have so much better quality??? there both stainless steel and as far as I know there is no difference in piping size or really anything.. trust me I would love to get HKS but I just cant really find a good reason to throw another $300 more than greddy. please help me with this because I am really really wanting a exhaust I just need some help.

well the JIC exhaust i previously had the piping that was connected to the middle canister was a bolt on. and you can tell that there may be leaks. but the HKS is a weld on. and that alone i knew it would be better, so the money? if i knew, i would still spend the extra few hundred bucks for something i knew it was worth it, then getting the JIC. IMO

The quality differences we are talking about here are mostly from craftsmanship.... if you get a chance to see and feel a HKS right next to a Greddy in person you would know what we're talking about..

And then if you have a chance to see a Fujisubo exhaust.... WOW....
Just look at all the mandrel bends on the pipings and the perfect HAND welds on each joint.......

Yep nicely put.

I would agree on the pro HKS comments but to some people a cat-back is simply steel tubing. Were not talking about critical componets here. It's all subjective.

The question is wether you appreciate the craftsmanship to the point of spending an extra 50 to 60% more for something as that is hardly seen or even noticed most of the time. My car is not going to be on show with mirrors under it. Some people want the best and I can understand that. There is no doubt the HKS is pretty.

I don't think I'll ever have to replace my Greddy system for the time I have my car for any quality or faulty craftmanship issues and It doesn't take a rocket scientist to build a cat-back system.

The Greddy SP2 is not something slapped together by Jethro in the back shed from 50-year-old scrap metal. It serves it's purpose at a very reasonable price.

Good luck...

I looked at both, but I ended up getting the greddy. I could not justify the extra money just for an exhaust. They are both just for looks and sound, as no exhaust does that much for freeing up any hp on the car.

I say get the Greddy and use the money you saved for something else.

I have the GReddy system...if I had more money I'd be all over the HKS system, but I don't so I'll stick to what I have.

Hay Guys... I have the GReddy system on an new 06 RX8 with an AEM CAI. system. My friend has an RX8 05 i thing with HKS intake and HKS exhaust... as when it comes to sound. The Greddy is a little deeper as the HKS is a bit raspy in higher RPM ranges. But all in all.. dont sound too far apart.. as performance... Both of us have not had any Dyno Time but when we race from stand still He gets the jump on me in the first two gears but I creep back to beat him by an half a car. Thats all the comparison I have between the two exhaust. For the money i would and did go with the Greddy and I am very happy.
