Talking HKS Race Pipe (from Japan)

Hello all!

I am aware of the HKS Down Pipe? Or was it the HKS Race Pipe? Please correct me if you know exactly what I am talking about. I believe you can not obtain this item from the USA branch of HKS, please inform me on where I can get this pipe. I want to run the pipe with the Legamax, and yes, I am aware of the price, so don't bother warning me. Just do me a favor, please let me know where I can get this. I will be awfully thankful and appreciative to whomever that can lend some information? Lastly, I am pretty positive about this part, assuming other members will also take interest? Therefore, let's get it! Help me find it

It's a mid pipe with metal catalyzer. It also has a built in resonator. I recently obtained this piece. Video's will be up soon.

Wow that is steep!!!

Why not just go the route of the RP catless mid pipe? I think the RP is 3" isnt it?

what do you guys think besides the fact that its pretty pricey
also once deedubb have the video up you will all know and understand why we are willing to pay that specific amount for just a pipe

I like HKS and all...but ~$1200...that thing better cure cancer if I breathe from the exhaust pipe for that kind of cash.

What sustained temps can this metal cat withstand?

it is still retarded. It is a mid-pipe for crying out loud.

It's a 150 cell cat. There are many better 100 cell cats out there.

I like HKS as much if not more than the next guy, but over $1200 for a midpipe with a cat is pretty steep. I have no doubts of the build quality, sound, and performance, however.

I'd like to see what features a hollow pipe has, that could justify the pricing.

^ I don't think its hallow, it has catalytic converter of some sort I am guessing? because even if you freaking use T322 grade pipe, 1200$.........I go buy half a turbo kit

I dont have all the details right now for it. I will get it shortly... what I do know is that the piping is 65 mm. Most mid pipes for the rx8 are 70-75mm. This pipe was designed for N/A applications but could still be used for turbocharged renny's. This is only a Japan part (not advertised or sold directly from hksusa) but can be specially ordered. The metal catalyzer is top notch, not like the cheap crap used in the rp supercat that tends to burn out after a while.

the pricing has a lot to do with the metal catalyzer itself. Thats another reason why it will not be advertised here in the U.S. .Not so sure if you have noticed it but the average RX8 owner in the U.S. is cheap, and is not willing to spend dime on quality products. Take for example 350z guys or Lancer Evo guys, they drop serious dime on their rides reguardless of cost...
