What are your HKS suction kit / exhaust longer term impressions

Hi,

I've had my titanium Rx8 for 3 weeks now and loving it. I haven't even thought about making any mods as yet however a funny thing happnened.

I was dropping a mate off at a tuning shop and the owner came over and asked if i'd be prepared to have them fit the HKS suction kit and HKS exhaust to my car doing before and after dyno runs as a bit of a marketing exercise.

I'm in australia and it seems not many rx8's have had this done locally. I have seen nojooc loves his HKS exhaust :D

I've done some searches and the pics are the same as the kit i saw and understand there are few gains to be had. I was wondering what the longer term impressions are of those people that have had the suction kit / exhaust on

So are you going to have them fit the equipment on your car? If it was me, I would have jumped at the opportunity...

Go for it.

i've had my hks suction kit for almost 6 months now...since day one of installation..no problems at all...hell...even the filter is still nice and yellow and bright...the sound from it is awesome...the entire product is entirely high quality... you want a quality product opt for the suction kit..

6+ months on and I still love my catback...... I actually like it more now than I did 6 mths ago. :D

The sound quality has improved and the tips are now a nice gold colour, so I'm not complaining.

As for the suction kit, I'll be fitting mine tomorrow (hopefully), so check again with me in 6+ months.

It sure looks great, but performance wise.. hmmm... Little to speak of. In the US, the HKS products are usually 2x to 4x's the price of other brands like K&N intake, or Greddy exhaust.

Personally I'd just go with HKS because of the aesthetics, and money isn't too much of a concern... if you are going for performance, well... it's not much better than any other brand.

everyone on here with HKS exhaust (all what? 3 of us?) loves it. i'm going to stay away from intakes in general, but the HKS unit is surely a nice piece.

I just installed my HKS intake today and man............... it's f***ing awesome! :D
Sounds great..... butt dyno is detecting loss down low but a gain up high.
Highly recommended!

BTW, it compliments the HKS catback quite well in the aural department.

No, I'm happy with my H&Rs at the moment so I won't be doing anything to the suspension bar some new swaybars.

Me thinks it may be time to experiment with FCon V.....

FCon V piggyback aehhh Good on you to experiment as you said to me once.

Hide your comment from Hymee I guess... Don't make a mistake as Taka did.

Why don't you wait until ECU replacement that work for the RX-8. I guess there are so many thing to tune in an ECU that no one wants to spend time on them

Oh that is right...

R34 is good but you are going to lose all the class with the RX-8. If there is a turbo, I think you will give most car a running on the track - let us enjoy the car until it happens.

I've had the HKS Legamax and Hipermax II installed for about a year, and the HKS Racing Suction for about 7 months!!! I can honestly say that I am very happy with everything!

Wish we all had the hookups like FE3P at HKS and get the stuff cheaper, I'm sure more people would buy HKS RX-8 stuff. But since they cost more, and doesn't do much for performance, I'm sure that is why more people don't try the products.
