How to Clear CEL with UR Pulleys
For those that choose to go with the Unorthodox Racing pulleys (or any other set, I would imagine), here's the clear CEL technique that I used: Just drive.
The manual for the pulleys suggest doing the 20 brake tap in 8 seconds with the car on but engine off, turning the engine on and turing the wheel right and left. UR also says that max power gains would be seen after 5-7 days, once the ECU adapts to the lighter pulleys.
It didn't work the first time, and I couldn't just keep turning the engine on and off in the freezing climate (it takes too damn long for the engine to warm up).
Well, I just made the trip from St. Louis back to South Florida, planning to take care of the CEL when I got to warmer climate. Except when I turned the car on this morning (the sixth day), the car turned on without the check engine light, and I drove another 850 miles (turning the car on and off for gas and food a total of six or seven times), and the check engine light hasn't come back.
I guess it makes sense that once the ECU figures it out, the check engine light would go away.

Well, I guess your account is a bit reassuring, since I'm having the same problem. I installed SR pulleys two weeks ago and I'm sure I've driven close to 500 miles since then and my CEL is still on. I tried all the tricks people have suggested and the only result was that the CEL remained solid instead of blinking. Anyway, I hope I soon have the same results you had; this CEL is starting to get annoying.
