i would like know how much can the rx8 make without swapping it for a 20b?Or can it at least make 500 whp.
im asking these questions cuz im thinking of buying an rx8 and i would like to know if its at least can keep up wit the fd rx7 or be faster then it.

well money is not an issue if i do buy an rx8 overtime i would like it to acheive 500 whp thats enough for me.....i see fd rx7s wit 500 whp on a 2 rotor even 752whp and fd is an old car i want know if ithe new rx8 at least acheive the power i want from it and thats 500 whp.... if it cant acheive that i dont see whats the point of buying the rx8 if it cant even keep up wit the old rx7

ya can delete this thread cuz im goin wit the fd rx7 cuz its faster and i dont need to swap it for a 20b to be fast unlike the rx8 it needs a 20b to be fast... even wit the greddy turbo that is out for the 8 is still slower then a fd oh well

I've only been in the automotive community a few years but I seem to run into two types of people.
People who want to build their car for a certain level of performance (autocross, drag race, road course etc etc).
People who want to build a dyno queen.
Now, which one of those two do you think concerns themselves with how much HP an RX8 can make? Sorry but WHP is only part of the package.

people don't realize that there is a huge difference between streetable hp and dyno queen horse power.
On pump gas with the renesis, I think we're going to be seeing somewhere just below 380 whp. It's hard to go much further without risking detonation.
If you have 110 octane and spray meth and have ice and giant fans blowing on your intercooler while doing a dyno in the middle of winter, your horse power can be as high as you dare go. But making 600 whp outside of that on a sunny day with 93 octane gas is unlikely.

^Now that's funny!
The RX-8 may not be able to keep up with the FD initially. Fortunately it's never long before an FD breaks down which will give the RX-8 plenty of time to catch back up and pass it!
