Hymee Exhaust installed
Couldn't wait anymore, had to install it. I wanted to wait until after they fixed my car but there it sat and there the car was. Look to my left and there's the Hymee, to my right the car. Left, right, car, exhaust what to do? I'm weak, I put in.
This exhaust has just the right amount of sound, mild until you push hard past 6000, then it gets agressive. No drone, can't hear it at idle but does have a tune even off idle, just does not offend or sound ricey.
As for the unit itself I have to offer **** to Hymees welder whoever he may be. This guy must have laid down hundreds of miles of bead. The fab work is super and it is a damn shame you can only see the tips. You might want to park over mirrors so people can see it.
Back to the tips. great finishing touch, they fill the openings much better then the stock. The taper going into the tube looks neat. :D
I don't think it is a home install unless you have a tourch. On my car the factory had clamped the tubes so tight that they were crushed. There is no way you can get the new tube to go into the stock outlet. I just cut it off a little way past the damaged part and welded the new part to it. I used stainless rod. It is still a bolt on because of the flange you just can't go back to the stock unit without some more welding.
I don't think many will be wanting to go back to stock. Sorry I didn't weigh them both for you but I'm sure Hymee has. Also I know you would like me to have done a dyno before and after but the car is not running right anyhow.
I haven't done a long freeway drive yet but I'll let you know when I have, maybe tonight.

You can fit the exhaust to the standard pipe but it takes some work. Some sumo tightens that U bolt in Hiroshima I'm sure. It took a bit of torch work and much beating to get the pipe back to round before Len and Hymee could get mine on. Any good exhaust fitter should be able to do this.

Why bother? If you have a torch weld it. Better joint anyway, no leaks, no parts to losen.

I have not fitted one yet, but I often wondered why it was not made a bit bigger and bolt on to one of the existing flanges???
Wouldn't this avoid the need for blow torches and welding???
The exhaust is now further delayed by the arrival of the Scanalyser and the need to buy a new notebook... Sigh!

my Hymee was installed using a U-Lock with a spot weld on the 'L' lock for the old piping
really after the thing heats up and expands...it seals the pipe shut
as long as you do a good job of 'pumping out' the old pipe it will be more than fine...
as said before stock intermediary pipe will be deformed like u would not believe!
BTW LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hymee...exhaust AND sCANalyser that is :D :D :D
just been to dang busy to make my own review
here is a pic until richard posts some:
(this is a day after tips installed so it hasn't been burnt in thus I haven't cleaned them off...so now they are as bright and shiny as the rear rotary accent)
