I did it, ordered RX8Store exhaust
Well....after ALOT of going back and forth between RB and RX8Store cat-back's, I spoke with Jason and ordered the RX8Store exhaust this afternoon. Jason was great to work with, and provided much needed assurance with my decision.
I guess the deciding factor was while soooo many folks on this forum recommend RB (and I don't doubt that they/it is a great company/product) there were many threads indicating that RB was pretty un-noticable until the higher RPM's. I wanted a system that was a nice improvement from stock across the RPM spectrum...while not being overly loud. Kinda a middle of the road sounding system. Early on, I also considered Greddy but decided it was too loud for me and the tips were a turn off.
I should receive the system in 3-4 days......hopefully, it will be everything I want. I'll let you know.
Thank you all for your input and information.

Ok....my RX8Store exhaust is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow (there was a bit of a delay due to the fact that the manufacturer had to make it - per Jason).
Anyways, the excitement is building. I decided to remove my old exhaust today so that when the new arrived, I could very easily put it on and be driving literally in a matter of minutes.
The old exhaust came off easily - the rubber hangers were no problem. Just spray with silicone, use a very big screwdriver, and they popped right off. What I did have a problem with is the exhaust finishers! What a pain. I couldn't manuver the exhaust out from underneath without taking at least one off. I 'finally' (after about 15 minutes) got one side off......but I did crack off one of the plastic tabs (hopefully it won't make a difference once I put if back on). I decided not to take a chance on the other one and left it. Also, I used ramps and that gave me plenty of room underneath although getting to the cat bolts was kinda tight.
I'll be sure to report back tomorrow evening with the results of the re-install of the new system!

The RX8Store exhaust is on!.....but not without a bit of trouble. I had a bear of a time trying to get the pipe bolted onto the cat. The exhaust flange was just a bit cocked from the original and there wasn't a whole lot of thread (make that none!) showing to get the nuts started. After 1 hour, yes, 1 hour, I finally got them on.
Also, the hanger for the intermediate pipe is a bit too long and rubs.....I'm probably going to have to remove the exhaust and cut about 1 inch off of it.
As to the sound......wow.....this is a bit louder than I expected. It has a great throaty, deep tone across most of the rpm spectrum. It does calm down when you reach a cruising speed. I also notice a bit more jump.....at least it seems. It seems like the car is loosened up a bit and has more low end torque. There would definitely be more flow with the 3 inch pipe and flow through Magnaflow muff's.
The system looks great...I love the tips...bigger than stock but not overwhelming.
Now.............the real test will be to see what my wife says about it....I'm kinda scared (just kidding!)

When installing the intermediate pipe to the cat did you leave it lose on the muffler side? I know if that side is tight first you will have a hard time getting it to bolt up to the cat.

the only reason the Hymee Exhaust is a reasonable price and doesn't turn gold is that the price of steel is far lower in Australia then in the US so a higher quality stainless steel may be used.
Hymee does sell a lower quality version that does turn gold...that is the least expensive exhaust on the market but still has the tips used on the higher end SS model

Jason,
Yep, I didn't have the mufflers bolted on, and had a bear of a time with the nuts. I even comtemplated going to the local auto parts store to see if I could get shorter springs! Also, the intermediate pipe hanger had to be cut as once I mounted it, it was right against the rear diff, and not allowing me to ensure the rear pipes were properly centered. I trimmed about 3/4 of an ich and all is fine.
As to the sound, now that its been a couple days.......this system is GREAT! I love the sound and would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks
