hello everyone I'm new ....i was just wondering if anyone found good headers for the 8.... i'm trying to increase my mpg.....any help will be nice...


p.s. has any tried the miss firing system on the 8 yet

As of this time headers on the Renesis has proven to show no usable benefit.
What misfiring system?

The misfiring system is when your engine produces a back fire…its something the rally car have…just wondering if we can do it for the 8…. In other words

 

Trade in your RX-8 and buy a Civic.

The RX-8 was not built for gas mileage.

 

Back fire is just a side effect of the misfiring system (also called anti-lag system). It is used on rally car to aid against turbo lag. It is, however, very bad for the turbo you will need to either rebuild or replace the turbo every couple hundred miles. Now was you can see it is for turbo cars only =D. There are rice kit savailable if you want to see fire coming out from the exhaust but I won't want one.

 

thanks for the info...and no i heart my rx-8 i would rather walk then drive a civic...i hate them so muchh (>.<)

 

IF you are really interested in misfiring or backfiring then our RX8's actually can do that stock. IF you can get the exhaust hot enough by driving in the higher rpm's for a few minutes and rev quickly then the 8 may or may not back fire, but there are cool videos on the forum that show it.
