i need help with finding a turbo

hey ive had my rx8 for about a year and a half, im all about speed and power, i bought a typhoon k&n air intake to give me more power, at first i was real happy with itbut as the months have gone by ive gotten use to the power and now im looking for much more power so im thinking of getting a turbo, im not really sure what is the best turbo system out there, all i kno is i want something that is not very expensive but that ill be happy with. i keep going into ebay and i see that they sell this turbo kits for $700.00, but im not sure if one of these would do the job or if ill just be wasting my money, also i have no idea how i would have to set it up, i guess im just asking for some advice and help from people that know what they are talking about, if you dont then please keep the advice to your self. o yeah my pockets are tight so i have a budget on how much i can spend.

-thank you for reading.

that will be a waste of money.

If you want power on a budget, go nitrous. Its way easier to install and maintain. And itll be around that 700 dollar mark to have 55 extra horsepower reliabily.

Felk420 , ebay turbo...nuff said. Has common sense been thrown out the window? Yeah that makes sense , ruin a $30k car because you couldnt spend a couple more G's. Do you know anything about turbos? If not i would highly recommend you to do more research before purchasing such a mod =/. Its not a mod that u "drop it in" and forget it.

Pick one or the other, you can't get both.

I plan on getting a set up from him once summer starts.

Forget trying to find a $700 turbo. Just get a 55 shot set up from BHR/CRH

^ Felk420. Don't forget that you're asking for help.....

A simple search would have shown you that to go F/I (forced induction) (turbo or super charging) you are looking at a minimum of $3,000 for a GREDDY kit. Most of the other F/I options are +$5,000 because they incorporate the pieces and engineering required to add about 100whp without grenading your engine.

There are a lot (+100 active members?) on here who are F/I. They know A LOT about it. The pieces and tuning required are not found everywhere. Don't forget that the RX-8 is a niche vehicle as far as kits - not a lot of options there.

You've been a member here since January 2008. More than enough time for most 'enthusiasts' to have read the forums.

I hope you are not just trolling to start something.

Also, please put your location in your profile, we have members world-wide. It helps to answer your questions.

Finally, you do know that your K&N adds about the same amount of speed to your car as emptying out your trunk and keeping your tires at the proper pressure?

Not exactly hostile, just a little tired of that same question every friggin day.

Look around, start with the turbo reviews, move on to the tuning threads - you get the drift....

For 1,300, your choices are limited. You can look at MMs cobb acessport, lightweight flywheel/clutch (BHR/CRH has a flywheel rated at 8.98lbs which I have and love), a short throw shifter (I suggest axial), a catless midpipe, aftermarket coils (BHR/CRH has yukon coils which are very popular), pulleys (which some believe don't do much, but you can look it up and decide on your own), and then there is the nitrous which has been suggested.

As far as mommy and daddy giving us money for our cars, there are few active rx8 owners who have mommy and daddy give them money for their car and mods. I get all my money for my car and mods from working two jobs.

In any case, you shouldn't spend more than you have on this car and you wont getting blistering HP/TQ numbers from this car without FI. Let us know what you end up doing or plan on doing.

Funny how you assume I use "mommy and daddys money" through an internet forum. Sorry buddy, that is not the case.

I can say what I want and will continue to say it.

Your budget sucks for getting a turbo, either get another $4,000 dollars or you're not going anywhere. Sell the car and get a civic, thats what you deserve.

edit; oh and learn to type out proper english.
