First, this needs to be in the parts for sale/ wanted section.

Second, what are you wanting to do with the car? Are you just wanting to make it look and sound nice or are you after real performance?

Third, $1k can go quick. So research, plan and prioritize carefully.

if you're looking to drift then suspension and tires should be first on your list

Well im new to the tx8 club myself but you dont really need carbon fiber or rims yet if your gonna drift, like laythor said get something done with that suspension and most def some tires, cause some toyo proxes can cost around $700 so thats most of it gone.

Okay, perhaps I'm wrong (I hope I am), but it sounds like you're another 16 year old kid getting caught up in the drifting hype. But if you're serious about learning how to drift. I'd suggest that you invest in a good set of coilovers. You could get a good pair of coilovers for under 1,000. I think this would be a good start for you.

Your first post indicates you are on a budget. If thats the case, I suggest you avoid drifting. Drifting is not good for people on a budget. You will burn through tires and if you are learning, you can easily tear up or crash your car. Doing autoX or HPDE to gain experiance and learn good car control would be a much better use of your time and money. IMHO, until you have mastered the basics of highspeed/performance driving, you shouldnt be drifting. My two cents.

also, if you're wanting to drift, i recommend learning how to change your tires on the rim, getting a second set of junk factory rims, and buying some used junkyard tires with a usable amount of treed left. silly to burn up new / grippy tires just to learn fundamentals. plus you'd be sick if you ruined an expensive set of wheels.

thanks for your imput i did wreck my car recently and decided that drifting may not be my thing.... she is in the shop now and i have decided to lean more towards some carbon fiber mods and making the car look good.... dont wanna say i want a show car because i know that can get very expensive. basically, i love the car, the power, the 9,000 redline, but i need a little more

if you wanted to drift, why didn't you go buy an S13 for under $3000?

16 years old + RX8 is bad enough . 16 year old + RX8 + Trying to drift + already crashed car = Bad parenting.

I got my RX8 when I was 17, it takes a lot to rise above the immaturity but you must do it. I wouldnt do a single mod to that car, spend time researching on this forum and calm yourself down in the car, from there, then begin to modify things.

Clearly, you cant even control the car in it's stock form. If you must buy something, take that $1000 and buy rims.
