i need some help
#26
I would still go AP and run the stock maps that MM provides with it. It gets rid of any CEL that you would get when you buy your midpipe. they are close in price. Get a midpipe and AP instead of a midpipe and intake.

alright thanks a lot guys.
and after that what comes next? exterior or more porformance parts.
i would like to do a little bit to the outside but that really costs a ton of money to get and look good and get it installed

I am THAT guy

wingle: yeah man, i've been lagging lately
I still say since he's kinda new to start off with small modifications like simple bolt-on's until he fully understands what he's getting himself into - considering in his OP he stated that a turbo is out of the question because it will blow his transmission when there's turbo'd AT's out there w/stock transmission and doing fine.
crawling before walking comes to mind. . .

yeah I understand, but if hes not going FI, he wont have to worry about a map from MM, and it sounds like he is going to need the AP to hide engine lights from his dad when he does midpipe, which is pretty much your best first mod for the HP.
AP was my first buy

atilla is right i didnt know what i was getting into with the turbo and stuff.
some guy on youtube told me that a turbo on an AT would mess up my transmission and i guess my dad let me believe that for obvious reasons...
and by the way guys im not installing this stuff i talked to a mechanic at my local mazda dealership and he said he could instal it for me that hes done them before... the only thing being it must be bolt on so no welding.

alright so here are the things that ive picked out:
Borla cat back exhaust:
http://raceroots.com/index.php/produ...k-exhaust.html
and agency power midpipe:
http://raceroots.com/index.php/produ...k-exhaust.html
would it be pointless to buy both of these because the borla comes with the cat back exhaust and the AP has the cat delete?

dont worry about some guys on here, they are just giving you a hard time cause youre young, dont sweat it. I actually live in jeff city about 20 minutes from morristown. I would go exhaust and AP. Im gonna get a hold of an AP this summer when i start workin again. I would go with the hks hi-power or the greddy sp2. Agency power makes a good exhaust too and its pretty loud. I have a greddy se exhaust and i love the sound, not very loud but the sound is almost perfect. If a midpipe is what you have your heart set on look at BHR's midpipe they are releasing soon (im also gonna pick one up this summer)

actually the fact that you are young
admitted to having no experience with cars in general
you want to step into a car that is very maintenance heavy
asking questions about things that have already been addressed countless times
(im just waiting for the "what oil should i use")
so yeah... in my eyes that raises the red flag that you are trollling
If you were really interested in this car, you would have done the research on it long before you made the purchase. Then you would have learned, that it lacks torque and HP and there is no way get your high end results without spending a ton of money on it.
If you really and truly want to learn about the car, there is an excellent search function on here. Look up the questions you want to know, because odds are that in the past 6+ years, someone has already asked it and gotten a response.

i know what oil to use... i have read the book and i know the rx8 lacks in TQ
but to be only a 1.3 liter it has great HP so leave me alone if you dont like the questions i ask then dont bother looking at the thread.
and rx-865 i go to jcc to play ball all the time.
the hks would be really really loud i LOVE the sound though. i guess i would just have to learn how to drive so i could stand it.
and also im getting an intake system. the RB revi intake and air duct.
after that im going for exterior looks

those rims you had didn't look like something you would see on an 8. These, IMO, look better, cost about the same and are more of the tuner look im assuming you are wanting to go with. Also if you can find some Enkie RPF-1 in black get those, they are lightweight and look sick

Do you know what a "Ritual Hazing" is? Every new RX-8 owner who immediately wants to replace the intake, midpipe, and cat-back end up suffering in such a manner.

Trying to be nice about this but OP this is why you or anyone else who acts like you gets hazed:
- You are asking about something over 100+ people have asked and the answer is found when you search on similar threads.
- When you create your own thread out of laziness (yes, you are lazy for not searching) you are adding to the compiled bag of crap that people who DO search now have to go through to find a topic relevant to what they are looking for. This just makes the entire related topic cluttered with useless threads people have to weed through.
- When you do all the above, it does not go well with most and is very annoying.
- Next time, post a thread AFTER you've searched and you CANNOT find the answer in any of them and state that you can't in the 1st post. Also, you better be honest about that because if you're not, people will throw in your face links to threads that have the answer making you look even more like a d-bag.
I'm not scolding you, just giving you a fare warning if you want help around here how to go about it.

Oh no3s...rim questions.
My Advice: if you have to consult people on which rims to buy you should just ask them which rims would they buy instead - saves your time and theirs. If you don't care for their opinion then there's no point in asking them. Research what's important to you n' go from there.

welcome to the club!
I picked up an auto because I wasn't into cars. Eventually I found this website and I got hooked. It was too late to go MT, but I love my 8.
Anyway, search before you buy. Start small and reliable. Be sure to check oil levels after every few gas fill ups.
My first mod was the hks hi power. Its loud but sounds the best imo.
