Exclamation I need some perfomance help!

Hi i'm from greece!
I have a question about turbo n' comporessors. I was trying to find details in this forum about if this kind of actions (turbo/comporessors) are "bulletproof" for my engine, but i didn't find any :P. (i've got rx-8 cosmo)
Can someone tell me with greedy kit or any other turbo kit and someone with comporessor kit how many miles does he have with the kit without any engine failures or pressure drop and what psi is he running, and what other "minor" modifications did he do to the engine to make it bulletproof?
Here in greece as far as i know is that renesis will loose pressure in time if you put on a turbo. (i haven't heard anything about comporessors here, only greedy turbos). Personally i like pettit compressor due to it's nice power curve

Sorry for my bad english!!

ThanQ for your time

I know your English is not super good - but try to read through this link.

The shortest answer is "no". But with the proper education you can make safe power.

280 whp is very do-able with any of the kits available today.

The Greddy kit is the least expensive and will get roughly 270-290 with proper accessories; it does require some fixes right out of the box, but nothing major. The Pettit kit mirrors the stock powerband very well; and the owners so far rave about the build quality and performance. I think either option would meet your needs. The best thing Greddy has is more torque over the Pettit.

It is a matter of cost and personal preference.

None to date; it is a newer kit so long term testing has not been done. But to the best of my knowledge no one has blown an engine with the Pettit Supercharger.

ic.. so basically what ur saying is that having about 280whp is a safe idea if your kit and other components are placed well and the setup is good

btw what you wrote is very good :D :D

That's why we keep Kane where he is, so he'll have time to post!

Just kidding! I'm sure the family misses you and vice-versa.

Thanks.

And Yes, with the proper kit, fixes and accessories, 280 WHP is not hard to do, nor will it negatively affect much besides your clutch if you are so inclined.

Anytime Mute - hope it helps.

We need more FI-ed RX8s.

ohh something else... i think that rx-8 from America have a drifferent ecu because here in greece my revs stop at 9.500 rpm and i think yours stop at 9.000 rpm (because once i've read about r&b ecu update that make American rx-8 rev up to 9.200 rpm) what happens if I import a pettit compressor from america with the electronic for the ecu? should my mechanic make some changes? (here in greece we have 2 rotary mechanics that as ppl say they are the best in greece)

If you get the Int-X it will not matter; the maps will be set for the Pettit and it will not use the ECU anymore.

I'd like to add a bit, if I may; here in the States we had an issue with the '04-'06 models where the OMP volume was a little low. Low enough to ruin apex seal after 50K miles or less. The reman engines offered by Mazda aren't much better, either. Before you consider F/I of any kind, make sure your flash level is up-to-date and do a compression check. If all this looks good, your engine will be fine in the 290 h.p. range. EVEN the clutch as it is good to about 325.

As for the kits, some of them are still going through detail development so make sure you read as much as you can about them before you buy.
