I Think i am stuck....need more Mods...

Hi ,

I got an Rx-8 ( 06 JDM 6-Speed ) and i do Auto-crossing with it, I will list the mods which i have done on my car so that people can get the idea about my car.

Aem Cold Intake
Racing beat Headers.
Racing Beat Exchaust with Mid-pipe
Okkada Ignition Coils.
ACT Clutch/Flywheel
Apexi I-throttle
Pulleys
Eibach Sway bars.
Ohlins Coil-Overs.
Hossiers 245/275

The cars Handling is perfect and i dont think i will install the bushing kit which i have with me , I cant go for Turbo as it will bump my category and i dont want to do that , i cant engine swap either because of the same reason.

I was looking at Ecu Piggy Bags but i doubt they are made for JDM cars and many people say they only help the Detuned Us/Eu Models.

So i was Wondering what else i can do to get little bit of better response / power from the car and also will the strut bars really help me in auto-crossing as i heard it only helps in high speeds and also we got the factory one installed.

Thanks in advance for the help , i am mind blocked here and cant seem to find anything else

The US/EU RX-8's are not detuned. Your car could benefit greatly from a good tune with the Cobb. Strut bars will do nothing for you other than for looks. Have you tried removing weight from the car? And you are running staggered Hoosiers?

Brettus just posted in the Engine Tuning area that he is about to experiment with a tuning program called MazdaEdit, best to go there and pay attention (i.e. better to neither be seen nor heard from)

Hi ,

Thank for the replies and yes the rules are more like scca tbh as long as I don't change engine or put turbo in it than i am fine.

Yes the access port is not for jdm 06 and getting cooling stuff seems unneccessary as we mostly get 1 run in 40 mins ( total 5 )

I am working on staggered rims/ tyres for the next year and thanks for the tip on Bretus I will check that out.

Please continue to post your valuable opinions and views

Thanks

It seems like your current setup puts you in SP class. Not much more you can do for power gains besides some engine tuning.

If you can't play with forced induction the next best thing would be gearing, get a taller rear diff, either 4.77 or 5.12 but it's not cheap

Here is a list:
Reduce weight, tune it with a Cobb, get some Hawk HT10 brake pads (track use), 17" RPF1's, and did I say reduce weight? Lol

i dont think that reducing weight will be more effective in this segment try some other thing or better to take it to garrage

actually, im not sure if a conversion would do it, or if a original LHD model would have to be used.

Revolution did it with their black 3 rotor rx8, for better weight distribution.

TRIPLE ROTOR BUZZ: THE REVOLUTION RX-8 - Speedhunters

read it and weap.

get rid of the exhaust choke point between the midpipe and the catback.
Or install a true 3 inch exhaust--adding a different collector on your header plus the above.
Add under car panels like on the S2 models.
Lower ratio rearend
get rid of the vdi on the lim.
premix with 2 oz's per gallon ( while on track)
do a foam fill on the subframe
keep your oil below 200F
index your sparkplugs ( flame suit on)
better ignition coils
