I'm not sure if this goes here, but...

and this is going to sound soooo stupid.

Does anybody have the "Turbonator" installed in theyre RX-8.

How retarded do I feel right now? Words cannot describe.

But i could go for a little better mileage(even though i really dont care what I get)
and apparently a little bit of a power increase.

Yup, stupid I know.

But seriously.

Harsh but true.

Search!

For $60 I can kick you in the nuts and you will have recieved the same effect as buying the turbonator.

"
Supercharge your car, truck, van, boat, RV, or motorcycle in just a few minutes.

The Turbonator is much less expensive and more efficient than any turbocharger, supercharger, blower, or intercooler. Its superior design increases horsepower while lowering fuel costs*, and the Turbonator's performance is backed with a 30-day money back guarantee."

Um, the mental congruency is on par with that of a pastrami sandwich.

Can I use more than one in my vehicle?

Yes, in Fuel Injection/E.F.I. vehicles, up to three Turbonator's have been installed by automotive enthusiasts that race their vehicles.

Turbonator just compresses some air in a swirl pattern leaving less air pressure in the remaining part of the air flow. The end result is nothing gained.

They make Turbonator type exhaust tips too.
If someone were to add them both, perhaps we'd gain 100 whp...

It really was a simple question.
Curiosity brings those up. I knew it was a dumb question but there's always that "what if" situation.
Way to be mature.

I'm pretty sure it wont do anything. A friend of my dad's at work put one on his V8 suburban and netted 2.xx mpg extra. His method of testing was:

1. Drive to florida from Houston, record mpg over several tanks.
2. Spend vacation in florida.
3. Install turbonator purchased at pepboys.
4. Drive back to Houston, recording mpg over several tanks.

I still think that it's a waste of money and will probably do nothing for your car but add weight and maybe a little turbulence.

Mr. Gump,
"Stupid is as stupid does...."
Go ahead and buy it.
You then can post a DIY for all us mature members...
You asked for advice. Sorry we didn't give you the answers you wanted to hear.
I guess we could have lied to you and suckered you into buying it.

Nah, I mean everyone could have been like. Waste of money blah blah. A simple doesnt work.
I got the answers i needed.
I just didnt need the ridiculing you guys gave with it.
It seriously was a simple question. A Yes or no would have covered it.
My favorite was "maybe theyll send you a turbonator for your brain..." or something along the lines of that.
(a very enthusiastic thumbs up! {end sarcasm})

Razzy seriously dude, dont listen to their crap. I got the turbonator a few months ago. I went to the dyno and got 58 more horsepower!! That was before I got my fender strakes and clear corners. They added 15 more HP a piece. I'm up to 268 HP now, thats to the wheels!! I have a big orange Mazdaspeed sticker on order right now. I've heard it adds like 35 HP!! I just might be the first NA 8 on here to reach 300 whp, I'll keep you updated!!!

(In all seriousness though, I asked the same question my first week at the forum, you aren't the first so don't take it personally. It's like when your older siblings give you hell growing up, it's all in good fun!!)
