Once the 4 bolts are removed, nothing else is holding the pulley on except dirt & grit.
Now comes the time where you curse and pry at it without damaging the positioning plate behind it (the plate with the teeth).
It took me a while to get my pulley off when I did mine.
Just carefully move around the pulley prying at it.

I had the same issue. Someone suggested me to use a 2x4 and a hammer to knock the old pulley out of the place. The 2x4 will not damage anything since it'S wood and it's smooth.

It worked great for me and the pulley got out of the way very easily and quickly.

Now that I think about it, I did use a small piece of wood and a hammer to break it free.
I still had to pry to get it off, but I'm sure the wood helped out a lot.

Remember to reset the PCM or else you'll get a flashing CEL.

1) Turn the key to the 'ON' position.
2) Rapidly press the brake pedal until you see the oil pressure gauge needle move to the half way mark and back down.
3) Turn the key to the 'OFF' position.
4) Start the car!

I'll only consider buying and actually using those pulleys if they were 50$. But I didn't think it would be that easy to change them.

Great thanks for telling me to reset the pcm i was wondering what that flashing was. I am very impressed with the new crank pulley it just gets up and goes way faster now. I would have to recomend one for everyone with a rx8.

Could be the result of simply resetting the PCM.

I cleaned the throttle body out on the weekend and reset the pcm, deffinately feel an improvement.

I seem to have my check engine light flashing even after i reset the pcm twice. So I checked if my coils, spark plug wires and spark plugs are tight and they seem all good and i also did a search on the fourms and it all says the same thing. Just wondering if any one have any ideas it wasnt flashing before i installed the pulley.
