Installing K&N ver2.
I seem to also face a few things with this intake system. after installing the system, i realized this, this plug that originally plugs into the bottom of oem airbox, isn't accomodated any where on the k&n system, therefore where must it plug into???
apologise if anyone feels stupidity of me~

I know what he is talking about
No fear ! NYCGPS is here !
Are you talking about the plug that goes to the VFAD thing ?
I have no idea what K&N was thinking, sure you can leave that thing open like that but, if you follow the exact K&N instruction the metal tube end will sit right next to the front opening hole, and trust me u will see ALOT of dirt there.
What I did was, the tube goes all the way end to the throttlebody, Pull the plastic tube out (careful, if u break the plastic manifold its over), then put a small plastic cape to seal the thing.

No, he didn't really answer your question. But if you spend a little more time on this board you will find many, many questions do get answered by him. Charles is well respected here and being an *** will not win you many friends.

lolz, in defense of the OP if someone insulted a fine product I just purchased, I'd be a little bugged too

ditto...returned mine to stock after some warranty issues. after that, i realized all it did was make an annoying noise. It does not do anything for horsepower, NOTHING!!

I'm not so sure. I've had my stock intake back on for about 2 weeks, and I feel like the k&n does add (a little) something at high rpm. If I do reinstall the k&n I think I will fabricate some sort of enclosure for it to shield heat, increase air pressure, and to quite it down just a little.
But on second thought, it might be a wise move to just sell it and use that money to get an RB flash?

Keep K&N and get RB flash.
Best of both worlds.
my gf keeps complaining that my car is too loud ... I floor it alot so yea I guess ...
I have rb flash I think its good. Do I notice anything ? well yes but barely. maybe if Im on a Dyno I can see something. called and found a dyno place and it cost 120 bucks for 1 hour unlimited run.

^ yeah, my wife loves it now that the stock intake is back on, its SO much more quite, a little too quite for my taste It feels like a luxury car now and not a sports car, supercat is almost nonexistent now too

You mean he is gathering data on the performance/effects of the k&n v.2? That would be nice and would certainly help me decide to keep it or not.

well~ thanks 2 all, but i really don't seem to understand why they would design sumthing for the RX8 thats not benefical at all~ i've had the k&n on for abt a week or so, i realize its very loud but thats also maybe because of my catless system... bhp wise, gotta get it on the dyno to see see... but question is~ what's the rb flash all abt????

I think its more like the filter restriction
Dunno, I have my stock airbox around(gotta find them, cuz its all over the place), if the result is ..... disappointing, we might as well sue K&N :P
