I am going to guess you have an AT? Intake doesn't do much for our cars so I would wait till a USED Racing Beat, K&N 2 or AEM shows up here. You can also go with a drop in filter in the stock box. I have a Racing Beat Revi, but I picked it up used.

The best and cheap way for an intake is a Racing beat Ram Air, Drop in K&N air filter, and DIY intake Mod

i dont know why i'm even catering to this but.....

answer some Q's first:
-what is the purpose of getting an intake? (sound/look/HP/etc)
-how much do you have to spend?
-Including the primary purpose, what charecteristics are you looking for? (again, sound/look/etc)

best bet then is to try and listen to as much as you can first hand. find local owners etc... also consult those here who have had multiple intakes, as they have 1st hand comparison experience

I would say save the money, buy a K&N Drop in filter. Then use the remaining money on suspension. I'm a fellow AT driver, sold the AEM and SR Motorsports because it was too damn loud, neighbors could here me coming from a block away. Went back to stock.

I would agree. go with the K&N drop in. 50 dollars well spent.

I had a Green drop in air filter then i came across used basicly new Racing Beat Intake and Duct. I know there is very little gain from an aftermarket intake but i love the sound of my Racing Beat setup. If you look at the oem intake comparped to the Racing Beat and or AEM/MS intake it is a liitle restrictive and designed to surpress the sound. Also cone style filters flow more air than the panel filters.

yea forget all that with taking out your baffles and the high flow filter if your looking for noticable sound. trust me, get the revi intake theres no way you wont like the sound. If your looking for a really loud, more of a moo'ing sound, go for an open filter like the k&n, i hated it though. good luck.

You can hear my MS intake at the Youtube videos below. This is from inside the car if you're interested. Taken from inside the car with an iPhone.

Revving: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkQeKDTnhJg

Acceleration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzAtfit5Z6M

If you ever come to a CVMC meet you can hear it first hand, though I'll have a header by then which could change the sound.

If you're looking for something deeper then I'd go with the RB Revi as it is closer to stock. The MS/AEM ones get kind of high pitched when you hit the higher revvs, but in the mid range they are sweet sounding. Plus I love the idle 'hiss' it makes.

Contact BHR, he has a cai that you can put together from parts with a very low cost.
