That makes the most sense to me when using forced induction. Are you going to use this system with the supercharger?

At the risk of being shunned for going off topic...

I assume you mean the MAP and the TSI. Yes - we will be using the TSI on the S/C project.

On the engine dyno we will be controlling, and gathering our data, with a Motec.

Cheers,
Hymee.

I have to admit, though the addtion of the MAP sensor with the MAF sensor in the mazda6 didn't make sense at first, it did when one of the local members had his maf die on him.

The car goes in sort of a pseudo safe mode, and uses the MAP instead of the MAF to get sensor input from the airflow. So even with a damaged maf, the car's still drivable...just feels like a geo metro. Now if we could only trick the car into "only" using the MAP info without going into safe mode...then of course we'd still need to mount an air temp sensor in the manifold for a true speed density system right?

Nobody stepped up. I think since the revi intake is now out on the market, there is no longer any reason to produce a new intake.

It wasn't that anybody stepped up. I offered back at the end of last year. I was going to take the prototype and their piggy back ECU and show it down at NOPI Nationals last year. But, the timing was bad and short. Last time I talked to Adam from CPE they were holding off on the intake for the RX-8. They wanted to get the ones for the Mzada6 off the shelf and see some revenue. Checking on their site, it seems they are still holding off. But it looks like they went other routes, STI and the 350Z.

that's too bad. cpe's intake in my brother's mazda 6 is great. amazing performance difference with the maf customizer. i hope they change their minds and move forward with this project.

and it would be silly to think that just because the revi is out on the market, there is no reason to develop another. there's always room for improvement.

Well if you guys want one...start emailing them! They respond to demand quite nicely.

info@cp-e.com

Sorry Markis, I thought no one stepped up. My bad. Shoot them an email now, maybe they've got a slot available for development.

Make sure to fill them full of information on where previous intake designs failed. Especially the need to make the rx8's shielded and/or cold inlet.

No can do right now. The car's in the shop getting a tranny swap...finally. I don't plan on putting anymore money into the car unless the new tranny shows better performance. If my car has this many problems in stock form, what's it going to do with added horsepower. So I'll wait and see, I may get rid of it and get a project car to have fun with. I'll try and give Josh a holler and have him give an update on this post.
