Intakes

I'm looking at a few options:

RB intake w/ ram air duct system - $465
Stock intake w/ ram air duct system - $150
AEM intake - $330

Does anyone know if the air duct system is not suitable in rain, snow, etc.? I'm trying to find out whether the duct will lack performance if the weather isn't clear here in Chicago.

You will be fine with any of your choices. I run a Mazdaspeed CAI with no dry sock in Rochester, NY and have never had an issue in snow or rain.

Ive done both of these and the RB with the Duct is better.. However, The AEM/Mazdaspeed was the best I have used that one as well.. It offers better cooling because you can take out a bunch of stuff behind the radiator so you get better flow over the radiator. Some however, don't like the Tube look under the hood.

Stick with the stock intake, and stock filter. I have the ram duct, but it's not really connected right now. >.< Keeps temps really close to ambient, and heat soak disappears really quickly.

All those threads stickied at the top of the forum area are there for a reason. Mainly for new members to easily find information that is so old and well covered, like intakes for example, that it is beyond basic.

I suppose at some point the moderator staff might need to question that organizational strategy since the new members of late blow right past them and immediately post a new thread instead.

RX7club has a nice beginners section system where you need 5 posts in the stickies first. Kind of forcing the horse to drink since leading them to water on this forum doesn't work well.

I think the stickies here are ok too...Some people just want everything their way, They are too lazy or too good to spend hours reading everything here and doing their research...
