take the other screen out as well and be done with it
The idle wandering thing may well have been there before - its just now you are focused on it . The only way to know for certain is to pop the screen back in and see what happens then .

my rough idle was there before i took out the screen, i dont know if im gonna take out the second one, but i also dont know if resetting the PCM would fix it, i would think not, but i may be wrong

resetting the ECU won't fix your idle issue btw - it will more than likely make it worse until the ECU relearns your engine .

Anyhow, I don't know if there were idle issues prior or not but it seemed smooth. Now the idle varies enough to see it on the tach. It didn't do that before. I'll put it back in and report back.

its not like the idle was extremely rough before i took the screens out, not like they made a difference. but the idle was just a little unsmooth. doesnt bother me, it only happens when it is fully warmed up, it idles around 700-900 rpm, i cant tell the exact number, but it doesnt go up or down, so im not worried.

Well, after putting the screen in the idle is essentially where it was before. It's not perfectly smooth with it in either, but the rpm doesn't noticeably vary on the tach. Didn't stall or anything with the screen out, but I'd prefer the idle to be as smooth as possible.
Sounds better with the baffles out so I'll leave that out and the screens in and call it a day. Will be putting a K&N or Green filter in later anyhow so that will help with flow.
