Intrest in modding the 8
Been reading a couple of post lately about modding.....seems like the 8 is pretty muched tuned to its limits in N/A form , sort of like the 90-96 300ZX.
Seems like basic bolt ons don't really give much power over stock unless FI is added on.
But if i was intrested in getting the best bang for the buck on power mods, which would you recomend and why? Not looking to go FI, but would like to get a little more power out of the 8.

Nemisis 8 thanks for the info..... man its crazy how those numbers are just about the same as 90-96 NA Z. Guess that is why i went with the TTZ at that time!
But the 8 is several hundred pounds lighter than any Z, so even a few basic bolt ons will make the 8 feel like a rocket ship compared to the Z sled.
Any combo I/E that produce the best bang for your buck?
Saw that the 8 has a Ram Air kit available, is it worth the expense? Is it better tha the standard WAI /CAI?

I waiting for all the Superchargers to come out
In the meantime, just lower your ride, tint the windows, get some nice rims. For the first mod, you might want to change the sound with a different CAT Back exhaust. For me, I just went crazy on Normally Aspirated mods. But, I always tell people, the big three in this order:
Handling - Braking - Power
I guess it depends on what you want to use your car for as to what mods to get.

I think alot of the problem is that people bolt on mods, but don't do any tuning afterwards. The gains from exhaust and intakes will be more significant if you have the ability to tune A/F, ignition timing, and port timing.

AMEN to this!!!
This is exactly what I am doing.
Power: You are kidding yourself if you think you'll get more than ~ 15 HP with basic bolt ons. So I only have an intake and exhaust.. No need to waste your money.
Handling: I am getting MS suspension
Braking: Already have WIlwood Big Brake here.
I am also waiting for the SC reviews... Just wait and see.
Get some track days... This IMO is the best money spent. YOU!

LOL - I know what you mean, but a track day stock vs. a track day with modified suspension will but a bigger grin on your face. Brakes could use stainless lines and ATE Super Blue, and pads. The rotors are huge already.

then you're next effort to improve performance is to get the lead out
The RacingBrake BBK drops 24 lb off the front wheels and gives you a four piston caliper over the OE 1 piston slider, it includes stainless steel lines and larger than OE Hawk pads, the rotors are only marginally bigger than OE so with the 4 lb per rotor weight reduction there is no increase in rotating inertia while the unsprung weight takes a big drop for better wheel control, the rotor disc material is superior to OE WRT wear and the multi-piston caliper will wear the pads much more evenly , so you think the OE brakes are great but there are some notable improvements to be had
WRT to weight reduction people poopoo the individual reductions, but cumulatively they can eventually add up to a significant number
