Just installed K&N Typhoon Type 2 Intake

to the op.. i don't think your intake + cover is sitting right. it should be flush, although i don't remember cuz it's been a while since i had my kn. also, do you still have the vfad in? you should match up the intake with a RB duct so it's actually sucking in some cold air, and not just the hot air in the engine bay.. i liked my old kn, and i do miss how it sounds =)

OK what if you don't really care about sound. And you don't particularly care about HP either. What if what you're really after, is a few more MPG. Will one of these kits help? The car is a lease so bolt on only, no cutting for a true ram air intake .

^ An aftermarket intake is about performance (albeit as minor an improvement as it may be) which inherently uses more fuel (what's the point of an uprated intake if you're not going to stomp on it now and again?). So, for best MPG, leave it stock.

When my car was stock i achieved about 18mpg average. Threw a K&N drop in filter in, gained about 1mpg. Now i have the whole Racing Beat Intake setup, with a freshly oiled filter, and i get around 17mpg.
