Just installed K&N typhoon2 Intake
Just installed my typhoon version 2 intake last night. And all I can say is that from outside it sounds amazing(I had my friend drive by and open it up for me)...And when driving the car and you get to about 6000 rpms and higher everything in the interior begins to rattle. I guess I'll have to get used to it as I was going to keep my car stock as far as performance modifications. I noticed a little bit of a gain and I am considering purchasing an agency power pulley and possibly a high flow midpipe. So anyone thinking about an intake, I am pretty happy with the k&n unit ... Does anyone have any experience with running a high flow mid pipe or race pipe with the stock muffler? I am looking for maybe a little more exhaust noise to counteract the intake noise. Thanks guys!!

The K&N type 2 can be a pretty fun intake if you're looking for something that is a little on the loud side at WOT. (my buddy has one and I drove his car a while back)
Do a search for oil in the intake. It's nothing to panic about but I remember reading something about having to install the mesh screen in the intake to help prevent getting oil back up in the intake. (happened to my buddy)

Yea it is very loud WOT.......Thanks for the tip, I went to the hardware store and bought the air compressor collector for the diy oil breather mod. The total mod cost under $10...

The only time I've had a problem with oil in the intake is when the dealer overfilled the oile during a change, or filled too fast, not sure which.
I've got this intake with the RB air duct, and a RP supercat w/ stock catback. I think the tone is great (deeper and stronger sounding) and gains are slightly noticable. This combo can really scream at higher rpm, but it can easily be kept quiet by not stomping on the accel.
Overall, I am very pleased with this setup, but I too get some rattling at high rpm near the dash. I might try going with the RB or HKS to see if the rattling goes away.
>Oh yeah, one of the best things about this intake is that it is super easy to inspect and clean/remove the filter element, unlike many other intakes currently avail.

rhythmic i had the same problem with the oil in the intake. i had an oil change done and i think a new guy did it because after they were done they were cleaning the engine bay for a good 10 minutes. the oil seeped past the filter and the mesh screen and into the intake tube. 94, i had the K&N with the rp supercat and the greddy sp2 on my auto. that was a loud combo but i loved it. i traded in that 8 and got another one but stick. if u want i can try to get up some clips of it if u want.
