I just finished about 10 miles on the newly installed RB exhaust and here are some impressions....
At idle, it is just slightly noticeable with a pleasant little "rumble" that lets you know that the exhaust is there....
On acceleration it sounds just, well, great! The thing I like most is that it doesn't drown out the sound of the engine. You hear a powerful exhaust note, but you still hear the rotary "song" as the engine winds up.
Bringing it up redline sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better than stock. Obviously, it gets louder up here, but not overbearing. Just plain sweet as it maintains the lower pitch compared to stock.
I cruised around at what my normal highway RPM usually is (3700-4200) and once again, it was not intrusive at all...just a nice sound.
I must say that I am very impressed and although it is more of a "cosmetic" mod I think it is well worth the money. The car may have only gained a few HP, but it sounds as if it gained 20 and in a refined way.

I wonder if Racing Beat has an opening in their marketing department!?

Got mine today, a couple of days earlier than expected, and was lucky enought to have my mechanic be able to install it minutes after getting it.
So far this is one impressive piece, even he (mechanic) said so. And it definately looks the part. The sound is more than bearable and authoritative, yet classy form the inside. From the outside you can really hear a true rotary buzz. At high RPM it'll surely make a tear drip down your leg and leave a stupid grin on your face. One thing tho, until the oils clear, this thing SMOKES LIKE HELL, much more than all my previous exahusts, but more blue than black... smells like a burning Bar-B-Que... but that'll pass.
One satisfied customer here :D

As in the little shift beep sound? NO WAY!
It's really not that loud at all from inside the cabin, even around ~7.5K. Just a more noticable & low GRRRRRRRRRR rumble. Revs from outside sounds really nice too!

Here's another video clip of RB exhaust
OK, That's it...
I keep hearing questions about this and that of the look & sound of the RB Exhaust and apparently alot of folks aren't quite satisfied with the clip from MazdaTrix (I don't know why, it sounds just about right to me...)
Anyways, I took the liberty of making a small clip from the inside and outside. Revving at 2K, 3K, 4K idles and finally quick 5-6.5K revs.
I must mention I had to shoot this clip twice, as I got a perfect daytime clip this afternoon but some dimwit from around my block decided to be an anus by parking by my gate and revving his cheap ricer to try me over and over. (These guys are stupid... Can't they see I'm parked and filming?!? F'ing Dorks. )
Whatever... So I shot it again at night & saved it to MPEG4 to keep the filesize low(7.8MB). Quicktime Player should suffice here. Hopefully this will clear things up a bit on the look/sound issues. Enjoy!

Ranger4277 - I'll try.. I'd thought about the inside moving one the outside is gonna be tougher as I don't have a good stretch of road (that I won't get arrested on) around me... I may even try to get another Daytime shot if i get home from work early enough.. possibly sometime tomorrow, but don't quote me on that
Rob - You'll need a player such as Quicktime(6.4+) or WindowsMedia (9+) with an MPEG4 codec... try updating your player apps or downloading an MPEG4 codec and you should be good!

Me too!!!!
I am proud to say I got my Racing Beat exhaust installed yesterday. Just like the rest of you, I LOVE IT The sound got a bit deeper after a bit of driving and I heard that is normal. The car sounds a lot better than stock and the fat tips look so much more aggressive.
I had to make a post since my wife is tired of me telling her how much I like it...

I got mine through a local dealer but I had checked with RX8store and they said they had them in at the time (week ago Monday). Good luck but it is also well worth the wait.
