Just installed short throw shifter

For all those who may care. I just installed an Axial Flow short throw shifter. It is a very easy install.

The distance is much shorter and it is a smoother shift. I would definitely recommend this upgrade.

It may seem like an ad for the company, but the shifter got to me very fast, no problems.

I'm confused. What's the point of a short shifter in the 8? The shift is already pretty short and direct. I don't see any benefit.

It doesn't really shorten the throws much, but it takes all the slop and spongy feel away. Gives you a much snappier, direct feeling. And, it allows you to feel what the trans is doing a lot more.

i was of the same opinion as Umbra, but a bunch of people seem to like it. I'll probably get one before long. It's an easy DIY install, isn't it? Just pop off the panels from inside the drink holder and be careful not to screw any wires??

Try one at a club meet. You'll understand.

Easy DIY. You need a 10mm deep socket or wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. Needle nose pliers are useful for popping off the cable stays over the bolts. Worst part is the little clip at the right rear corner of the console cover. DIY section has the pictures. It helps to invite another SS owner over to help.

It is a much smoother, cleaner shift. Richard on his site states a 29% closer throw. I would have to agree it is closer.

Anybody have one of these in NOVA? Would love to try it out. Although I'm ready to buy one already.
