just a thought.
i was doing some research and i stumbled on hybrid turbos they're about the same size as the gt3071 that MM uses and similar to the t-70 used by esmeril racing so why havent any of you guys used them?
heres and example of a hybrid turbo a TO4B Super H.
any responses are good thanks

If I am not mistaken...I think MM modifies the GT3071R...so it's not an off the shelf unit. The housing of the GT3071R is about the biggest you can get in the tight space where the stock GReddy mounts. So as turborx8 said, there most likely is a good reason for it.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

well yea that didnt cross my mind until now about the greddy turbo location. but what about esmeril racing? there turbo mounts up right under the hood with some extra space.
heres a piece of my reading that popped the question/thought:
The T3/T4 Hybrid Turbochargers consist of a T3 turbine section (Stage I, Stage II, Stage III, or Stage V Trim) and a T4 compressor section (T04B trim or T04E trim). This combination offers the low intertia and fast boost response of the lightweight T3 turbine wheel and the high-airflow characteristics of the T4 compressor family.
