I have the K&N intake and it is deff loud, the only time you will be able to tell even the slightest gain would be on a cool morning with no traffic. Other than that its just noise

I don't remember feeling gains with the K&N or with the AEM that I have now, but I know that my IAT is way lower with the AEM at idle and while driving. IMO the colder the air the better.
In hind sight I wish I would have bought the AEM first, even though it was more expensive. Luckily I traded my K&N for an AEM straight up.
If you are worried about water on your filter, maybe you should get the RB intake and duct. That way your filter is in the engine bay and you still have the duct to get your colder air. Just my .02....
