K&n Typhoon

It was really slow at work today, so the boss said it was ok to install the k&n. It went together pretty easy. Intake noise is definitely louder than stock. But it sounds good. My first impression on the road is its louder but nice. its not ricy and it doesnt drone at cruise. in fact at cruise its not even noticable until you get on the throttle. But to my surprise, according to my butt dyno, it feels like the torque curve has shifted into a more usable powerband. especially at cruise on the freeway in 5th or 6th gear. rpm is about 3500 maybe. when i tap the throttle to pass someone it feels like more torque is available on the initial throttle opening. i dunno just my opinion. another thing, i use to have this annoying vibration at idle. I always felt it was a lean mixture at idle. after the intake was put in that vibration was less. overall it was a good bolt on mod for me.

I love my Typhoon. I especially like that if I drive conservatively, it sounds like stock, but if I bear down on the throttle, it sounds real nice

I also like that iit does have a very nice throaty sound to it. Not ricey at all!

I had the same experience when first driving the Typhoon...but I do believe it is the sound that is making you feel faster, not actual performance gains.

yeah, it usually takes about a month or so for your Comp to get use to the mod you installed.. thats why you dont see much of a hp gain when you first put it on.. but after the Ecu reconginzes it, you should feel some extra power, not much though
