Last question about Racing Beat intake

I just installed my Racing Beat intake and duct.

After I finish the installation, 2 part were left.

One was like black long plastic panel and another one was like...long pipe?

In order to install the duct, the instruction said I had to remove the

those 2 things.

1) Do I just leave the 2 parts alone? or how do I put its back on?

Another quesiton is that while I put the long pipe(?) out, I had to remove the

little vaccume hose.

2) Do I just leave it alone too somewhere behind intake box? and is it going to

okay? not cause any problem to my car?

yea ok, that long pipe vaccum is the vfad. you leave that off. you can use the ram air duct in its place if you wish. the lil hose you will take out too and you should have a red cap that came w/ the revi to cap off the hose hole near the engine.

hmm... where'd you take off that panel from? which part on the car?

That panel was upon the front bumper. upon the white stroform.

and what is the red cap? Is it right one on the picture?

This is only one red cap I can see in the Racing Beat Box.

And what should I do with the red cap? Can you tell me detail things?

Thanks

that's the red cap. you remember where the end of the hose is? the other end, closer to the engine. that cap is suppose to replace the hose. you're just closing it off.

There was no instruction on my RB Intake Box.

So...I don't have to put back the two things on the picture. Just leave it off.

And the red cap should go..somewhre on the hose.

Could you show me the picture where the red cap is suppose

to go?

Thanks.

The red cap goes on the right hand side of the intake runner. You need to cap the line where the vacuum hose attached from the OEM intake. Look at where your racing beat intake attaches to the intake runner. Then run your hand on the underside of the intake runner (at about 4 or 5 o' clock) towards your windshield, you will find about a 1-2 inch long, 1/8" diameter line that sticks out. This line needs to be capped. Your rx-8 will not run properly without this capped.

Picture or where the red cap goes ==> https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...light=REVi+CEL . If you run the car without the cap, you will get a CEL.

Isn't the part in your second and third picture the piece that goes back on top of the fascia inside the engine bay?

Anyone has nice picture you took while you were working with duct?

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...=remove+bumper

This is the best picture I can see, but I want to see the other angle picture

Up, side, bottom....especially upper side.

And please tell me what I have to do with the hose after I put the red cap on.

Hmm I have a question tho.

I have K&N 2nd Gen. and RB Air duct.

I just leave the part in its place, cuz K&N didnt say anything about it. and Ram Duct didnt say anything either.

Should I just get something and "close" that hole as well?? Its still connected now. Thanks.

I actually damaged the little cap that was given to me with the MS CAI, but that might have ended up being for the better. I went to the Auto Store and got a much more robust cap to avoid having the problems of it falling off. You can always put some silicone on the cap to keep it from falling off.

If I do not connect the wire that green color (VFAD???),

the engine light comes up. Is it normal? or

The engine light should not come up even though I do not connect it?

The green connector doesn't need to be attached to anything just zip tie it and put it out of the way. You should not get a check engine light with it unattached.
