Least expensive HP upgrade
#52
Concur. The BHR ignition systems assures the best spark over time and the AP-MM tune ensures that you're getting all you can out of a NA setup. Not exactly cheap tho' at around a grand for the pair.
Intake and exhaust are really just 'ear of the beholder' items that won't render much Hp gains.
Nitrous would be the best bang for the buck, but of course an occasional use item compared to FI.
And also, "smooth is fast" so track driving lessons are a great idea.

NA mods are ~$100/hp in terms of cost assuming it's actually a gain and not bogus. So Accessport from Mazdamaniac and BHR ignition are the best bang for the buck.
FI mods are ~$50/hp so ultimately a better bang for the buck but you spend a lot more overall. Nitrous would be the best bang for the buck overall IMHO.
If you ask me what you should spend your money on I always recommend going to a track day or local high performance driving class with a local car club first. You'll learn a ton about you car, how to drive it properly fast, and what you really want to improve. Once I did that I realized power was not what I wanted to improve first.
