Looking for a good mod to benefit chart
I tried searching under several criteria, and still could not find what I was looking for. Has anyone compiled a list of each popular mod and 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times associated with that mod? For my SVT Contour, there was a guy that charted every mod his shop performed and what impact that mod had on actual performance. It looked kinda like this:
Mod 0-60 0-60 1/4 mile 1/4 mile
single mod cumulative single mod cumulative
Stock 7.4 sec 7.4 sec 15.8 sec 15.8 sec
Lightweight flywheel 7.2 sec 7.2 sec 15.3 sec 15.3 sec
Exhaust header 7.2 sec 7.0 sec 15.3 sec 15.1 sec
..........ETC
It was really helpful for people deciding on mods to choose from. Especially since there are mods with no flywheel hp/tq benefits like the gear changes and flywheel mods.......but the lack of increased hp does not mean zero change in performance.
Just asking.....obviously this type of chart takes a while to compile as well as being able to test at each mod and total of combine mods. The guy on the SVT forum was able to do this because he ran a shop that modded SVT Contours and Taurus SHO's.....so they had a wide variety of vehicles in various stages to test with.

Haha...
Here's my contribution:
Stock 6spd - faster than a OEM Civic (I swear)
and w/RP highflow cat - still faster than a OEM Civic
and w/K&N drop in filter - like grease lightning
Anyway seriously, that is a good idea, but I don't think anyone for the most part has any hard quantitative evidence with anything but a Gtech...and if we saw the numbers it would probably be discouraging with the exception of FI...so little change that sometimes the results would appear to be worse just because of different conditions on different days.

But I will chart all the mods that I perform. Perhaps between several members we can one day have a complete list.

Yeah, we all wish we had the time and resources...
The best I'll offer is when I go to FI I'll post a before and after dyno and disclose what I had NA and then what I have FI.
I don't anticipate ever taking the car to the 1/4 track so I don't think I'd ever off any #'s to go with, though.

F/I is a great mod to know the real world performance benefit from. Large amounts of hp & tq do not equal great performance. I could add a 1500 hp engine to my RX8 and probably have worse 0-60 times because of traction. So seeing how the greddy kit with 240whp alters 0-60 times is more important than how it dyno'd to me.
And seeing if results are worse then before the mod is very valuable info. I would love to save myself $500 by passing on a mod that actually lowered my 0-60 performance.

The only problem with stuff like this is that there isn't really anything that will help your times and 0-60 much. I'd say the biggest factors would be wheels, flywheel and FI. Everything else is just ripples in a pond.
