Question Making A Single Outlet Exhaust Out Of A Racing Beat Rev8

First off, is it possible to even do this?

Good idea, Bad idea?

Safe, not safe?

I like the look of the HKS but it's too loud for me.

I like the fit, finish, sound of my RB Rev8 but like the look of a single outlet, hence the question.

RB Racing exhaust is out of the question also.

Thanks in advance for the discussion.

WELL anything is possible when metal is involved. as for it being safe im sure it wouldent be life threatining. imo unless you already have a exhaust that you want to modify i would suggest buying some 2.5" steel tubing and start fabricating this exhaust to your liking and use a muffler of your choice. If you need any help with this let me know i would be blad to help.

I like everything about the RB so I thought I'd stick with it......just modify it.

Any other thoughts or opinions out there?

well after looking at the rb exhaust you have 2 options from what i can see. you could cut off and shorten one side and just re weld the pipe facing down and out of the way, that way you wouldent cause any restriction or strange sounds.the other option is a bit harder and would involve cutting off one side and running a pipe from one side to the other and splicing it in with the side you choose to keep.

it wont sound the same if you change that, and why would you hack up a 700$ cat back? i would maybe call rb and see if they will just sell you one of the mufflers that come with the cat back and if not your better off taking it to an exhaust shop to get a custom job.

if it breaks off by a Y pipe, just have both sides chopped and flanged.

you can then

-have custom pipes fabbed and run without mufflers for race days
or
-put on one muffler cannister and cap off the other end.

use your imagination...

but i thought the RB rev8 actually looks/sound nice???

yeah man the rb revi cat back is the nicest cat back ive ever seen and it sounds awesome!! if you want it a little louder remove the cat and install a header. it would be a sin to cut up that exhaust..

yeah man you know when it all comes down to it what you want and what you have are to totally different things. it would only cost about 300$ to get the tubing and a really nice muffler to make a cat back single exhaust..hell you can do stainless for that price. and yeah it would be a shame to cut up that rb.
