would this be of any help on the rx8? saw someone selling this cheap on a local forum.... the guy says it boosts spark and allows me to run a wider gap in the spark plug to burn more efficiently? Is this true or another snake oil thing? What if I only get the thing but do not readjust spark plug gap? He's also selling a MSD blaster 2 coil to go with the thing, what do those do?

the weak part of our ignition system is the coils, those need to be replaced with aftermarket units that don't yet exist.

 

I posted about the MSD Blaster thing a while ago, but a bunch of sites online are just saying it's for the 8 when it really isn't. I called MSD and asked them about 2 weeks ago and they said they had no products out as of yet.

Yes, there is highly upgraded iginition coils out there. I have installed these on my car and they work great. Better acceleration and fuel economy. Here is the site, but you will not see the RX-8 listed on the applications list. Just e-mail them and they will send you the info. They cost about $580+shipping and installation.
