That pad is for your leg. You use it to brace yourself when you're cornering.

that sounds pretty resonable, wouldn't that be the reason for lumbar/bolstering (can't remember which is which right now)

Ok, I can see that now... remember everything is on the driver's right so the pics make sense now.

edit... err... the driver is on right side of the vehicle, and the big picture is the drivers left (center console) and the small is the door panel (driver's right)

Ernie, Chuck at Rotary Extreme has the Mazdaspeed kit for the 8 now.
I would imagine that he will have replica parts avaiable when the 8 becomes available here in the states.

You know Chuck? Chuck does not actually have the kit in his hands right now. His cousin, Ronald, is the one that actually does all the body kit stuff. Ronald is in Japan right now getting the kit, however, he says it is hard to get there. Ronald will be making a knock off of the MazdaSpeed kit for the US people. He should be back any day now.

However, it will take about a month for his container with the kit in it to be delivered to the US. After that, you are looking at another month for the mold to be made and the first kit to be tossed out of the mold. You are looking at about a 2-3 month wait in the US for a replica MazdaSpeed kit.

MazdaSpeed WILL NOT be offering the real kit in the US. That is direct from the horse's moth from one of the big mucky mucks at MazdaSpeed.

Hope that helps!

My mistake, I misread his post in nopistons.
He says he will have the parts in a few weeks tops.
Either way like I originally said. He will most likely have the parts available when the car is.

Mazda Competition/Mazdaspeed

FYI, Mazda Competition and Mazdaspeed are now the same entity. I just thought I would make that correction.

But Mazda Comp here in the US can't sell Japanese Mazdaspeed parts. There was a ton of pollitical stuff that went on in the merging of Mazdaspeed back into Mazda... and somehow the contract was written where Brian and the guys in Irvine couldn't sell Mazdaspeed brand parts.

well, Ronald came back yesterday evening. So it looks like the Mazdaspeed replica kit should be available in about 2-3 months. Just though I would update you all!

Well, one thing is for sure. If you try to replace the wheels with aftermarket ones, you will get a continuous tire pressure warning lamp on the dash. Guess we'll all just have to order the Mag. wheels from Mazda

Which MazdaSpeed parts are worth buying?

I'm thinking all the tower bars and roll bars, the chassis brace, flywheel and the 2 way LSD. The shocks would be pointless since I'm looking at coilovers as far as suspension goes. What exactly does the selective LSD do? All the parts are available at rotaryextremes website.
